Hey BurbankKarl. Any other findings from your spotting of the Coast Guard copter? Did you hear any particulars in their radio communications?
No, sorry. I was surfing Freep and heard this odd noise. I know the Burbank, Glendale and LAPD helicopters by ear...and when I heard it circling, I ran out with my binocs. I thought it had left, when a big red helo came around the bend. Looked like someone was looking around on binocs back at me. Heehee. Female pilot. Burbank tower called them and said a Southwest Airlines 737 was taking off, and to look out for them. They were really low too. Very odd. You see them traveling up I5 some times, but I have never seen them circling like that. My buddy says that DHS will use them sometimes.
