I'll tell you what's freaky about it: how totally and completely un-funny I found him. I agree... He was pretty lame, compared to his contemporaries (Carlin, Pryor, and Kinison)
Yep...Carlin, Murphy, Kinison, Martin (back in his stand-up days), and my contemporary faves, Denis Leary, Lewis Black, and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour guys...all are hilarious. Andy Kaufman? He's kinda like Jerry Senifeld...I tried, but just never found anything even remotely funny about him.
