There was a thread about this yesterday. The freeper day shift responded positively to his comments.

I'd have to hear how he said this but . . . I'm a law-and-order conservative, but I have a problem with shooting people over Coke and pound cake. I'm sure that was a joke. I can't imagine that statement being anything other than mocking those of us who do believe in being tough on crime. Then again, I don't have a son who was murdered.

When someone steals food from you, they are jeopardizing the health and welfare of your children. Such people are counting on you not to fight, including the use of lethal force, to deny them the benefit of your property.

I live in a rural area with a police response time in excess of thirty minutes. Without the threat of lethal force to stop pillaging, my home would be stripped.

There was a case of a man here not long ago who was sentenced to life in prison as a three-time loser. His "third" crime was stealing slices of pizza from the table of children in a pizza parlor. He was counting on these children not being able to prevent him from stealing their food.

What possible benefit can be derived by allowing such a person to continue living free? As far as I am concerned, he could have faced the death penalty. Imagine the crimes that this loser was committing every single day of his life.

I ask you; when was the last time you were victimized by a criminal? And did you report the crime to the authorities? My bet is that you did not report it because you were convinced that nothing would come of making such a report. The clearance rate on theft and burglary is just a fraction of such crimes committed. Until we stop tolerating such behavior, it will just increase.

In Great Britain, it is against the law to defend your property from criminals. The future for them is very grim.

Keep in mind that Cosby's son was murdered by a punk with a prior felony history. If the punk had gotten a bullet in his prior armed robbery, behaps Cosby's son would still be alive.

Remember the old saying about a conservative being a liberal who was mugged?
