"Which is why they changed the mission of the Naval Academy from "preparing midshipmen....to be combat officers in the Naval Service", to "preparing midshipmen....to be professional officers in the Naval Service."

WHAAATTTTT?????? I can't believe they did that. Well then again....

Kings Point got rid of it's long time football mascot, the Ancient Mariner, for some PC eagle, so anything's possible..

What does that have to do with changing 'combat' to 'professional'?

Nothing against women in the service, but the PC stuff gets out of hand at times.

The feminazis and their handmaidens might as well just come out and say what they really want - castration.

If I say anything else I'll get banned. Feminazism is the evil twin of the radical "gay" agenda. Two sides of the same coin.

Pure evil.

No doubt it does get out of hand. However, as in all the services, most Naval personnel are not involved in combat operations directly. Professionalism is required in all Naval jobs. Assuming that this change was made because of women in the Navy seems a stretch to me.

Of course, I could be wrong in my reasoning.

When I attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy btwn 94 and 98, some of the more pc types in the administration and among the faculty. tried to refer to the students as Midshippersons instead of Misdshipmen. Even the girls got pissed at that.

I used to play in a Dixieland Band called, "The Pardon Me Boys."

Every now and then we'd get a chick to sit in on trombone.

No way in hell did she want to change the name. She dug being a Pardon Me Boy.

In this case, you are.

At least through the early 80's, males were not considered physically qualified for the Academy if they had any condition that made them ineligible for a combat arms position. Bum knee, certain types of color blindness, etc. Now there were some guys who became NPQ during their time, but you couldn't get in if you were not combat-capable. So, no men allowed unless they were combat-qualed.

By definition, every woman at that time wasn't qualified for the combat specialties. None could be "combat officers". So, they changed the mission statement. The result was that a woman who was never going to serve as a combat officer could enter the Academy, but a male could not. So yup, the change was due to the admission of women.

Or the selection process for admission is dire need of repair.

Certainly the selection process for supers is in need of overhall. When was this twit appointed and by whom?

and serve on combat ships in all positions.

Quite often looking at the "overhead" I'll wager.

Femanizing the military and dumbing down America...followed up with our cultural death via diversity and the moral cesspool of atheism and the Marxists Darwinistas of higher education...
Its part and parcel of the great design...

What's next, the Village People doing the Navy's graduation ceremonies!

Sounds about right. They can replace the fight song with "In the Navy" and do a musical video composite ala that Simpsons episode where Homer enlisted on a submarine.
