We can no longer recognize Christian holidays. Can no longer say "we're on Christmas break" or "we're on Easter break". But the Muslim holidays ARE NOW to be recognized!!!

I simply cannot believe we've reached this point.

I will never stop saying "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Easter" as a greeting -- not even if they start to throw us in jail for doing so.

I agree with you 100% milkncookies. SP2BF has been instrumental in doing so much for our Threads. I think those who have an axe to grind should do it by Private Messaging. Personal attacks are not the gist of the thread - it's TERRORIST ATTACKS (just a reminder for anyone who has lost track). Those who choose to flame someone should think about what they are contributing to the thread (I suggest if the message isn't contributing to the thread and is not positive or teaching us something, take it to private messaging). Those who disagree should be respectful of others opinions and reasons for their actions. They should also be aware they may not have all the information on the topic required to form an objective opinion. If someone disagrees, there's no need to get nasty. Form your post as you would like it addressed to yourself if the shoe was on the other foot. No need to "eat our own" for any reason. Those having a "bad hair day" need to get away from their computers and come back when they've had an attitude adjustment. Rant off.

Sorry, SP2BF! I hadn't read far enough. If you decided not to post whatever it was, I'm sure you have a very good reason!

Don't worry about it.

Maybe it's just a rough translation. Like when you read a book and the author puts in a foreign phrase to be a big shot. Then it makes me wonder if when they print it in that language, they put it English.

I am posting an article below from NewsMax from July 2002 (nearly TWO years ago!) which continues to disturb me to this day:

FEMA Preparing for Mass Destruction Attacks on Cities

John O. Edwards
Monday, July 15, 2002
FEMA, the federal agency charged with disaster preparedness, is engaged in a crash effort to prepare for multiple mass destruction attacks on U.S. cities - including the creation of sprawling temporary cities to handle millions of displaced persons, NewsMax has learned.
FEMA is readying for nuclear, biological and chemical attacks against U.S. cities, including the possibility of multiple attacks with mass destruction weapons.

The agency has already notified vendors, contractors and consultants that it needs to be prepared to handle the logistics of aiding millions of displaced Americans who will flee from urban areas that may be attacked.

The agency plans to create emergency, makeshift cities that could house hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans who may have to flee their urban homes if their cities are attacked.

Ominously, FEMA has been given a deadline of having the cities ready to go by January 2003 – in about six months.

A source familiar with the deadline believes the effort is related to making the U.S. prepared for counterattacks if the U.S. invades Iraq sometime next year.

FEMA is currently seeking bids from major real estate management firms, and plans to name three firms in the near future to handle the logistics and planning for these temporary cities.

FEMA officials have told these firms they already have tents and trailers ordered. The tents and trailers would provide shelter for displaced populations.

The real estate firms are expected to provide engineers and architects to lay the plans for emergency infrastructure needs, such as sewage and electricity.

"The terrorists are morphing to confuse law enforcement agencies. The FBI believes terrorists may pose as "Europeans . . . who might try to conceal their purpose.""

Remember the story a few days ago from a conerned mother on FR? This fits the bill completely.

KILLER RASH BREAKS OUT

Apologies if this has been posted already:

"A vicious skin infection resistant to all but the most powerful antibiotics has jumped out of New York City hospitals and onto the streets.

The "superbug," as health officials refer to it, can cause anything from reddening of the skin, to abscesses, tissue loss, amputation or even death in severe cases, doctors said." (SNIP)

I agree taking a time-out to just clear your mind does
wonders. I went camping this weekend and it helps,
except I had to be concerned about the weather here
in Southwest Missouri today. Was a lively afternoon but
all is well. I hope you and your daughter are well?

There's always a couple of MRSA infected patients even in a bugtussle hospital...it's on the football fields and in county parks...not just a big city issue. It's part of the medical landscape now.

Some things we should not get in the middle of, I understand the upset also and we do defend our own. In fairness to SP2 she did have it deleted and apologized. I also understand the clique thing.

So let's get down to business, I agree with you Indie

Out of respect for the hard work of JP and the valuable insight shared by so many on these TM threads, let's all make an effort keep things civil. Nobody benefits from flame wars and we end up losing key FReepers.

It's the freakin' Internet - some folks post wisdom, some post foolishness, and some post teasers. It's not worth losing friends or making enemies over.

Hey...Stillproud...May have made a temporary error in judgement and had second thoughts for whatever reason, but don't you dare talk about her like that on TM. Who do you think you are?
She is just awesome in the work that she does and the kindness that she has shown everyone here. If anyone needs to beat it then it is you. And if anyone has offender her in private then they had better apoligise.
