Last I checked, Japan wasn't part of Europe.
Hitler was ELECTED, in case you hadn't heard. Germany was democratic and had a history of democracy, albeit with a monarchy attached, long before Nazism raised it's head.
Germany is also a Christian nation with a Western culture. Iran, Iraq, Syria -- not Christian, anti-Western culture.
Do you honestly believe "free" Muslims will become our allies? Bush was right when he called this a Crusade after 9/11. Since then he's lost his way and fallen into this save the Muslims from themselves nonsense.
The Palestinians have the vote. Who did they vote for? Arafat. Did the bus bombings stop once the Palestinians got to vote? Hell, no.
Where are the freedom fighters in the Arab world? If you know of any, I say we arm them to the teeth. (Of course, we did that with the Taliban and see what it got us.)

The German democracy before Hitler wasn't stable. People though a real democracy wouldn't working in Germany after WWII. They were wrong.

Like President Bush says, liberty is God's gift to humanity. Democracy is not a Western system. Japan is not a Christian country. However, it's a democracy. After WWII, most people said democracy wouldn't work there. They were wrong.
Turkey is a Muslim country. It is a democracy.
Afghanistan has a Constitution and will have an election in September. Most Afghans are happy with America. They are free now. They don't support the taliban or Al Qaeda.
Iraq has a provisional Constitution and will have an election next year. Most Iraqis don't support Saddam, Al Sadr or Al Qaeda. About 90% of them want democracy.
A free, prosperous and secure country in the hearth of Middle East will be a victory on terrorism. Iraq will be an example for the rest of Muslim countries.
