This is one of the reasons why they hate us. Let's not pretend.

Now if we could just enlist a couple of compliance officers...

The goal is to bump ever higher the artificial "consequences," (via legislation, regulation and illegalization) for more and more behaviors, or any shades thereof, that are not approved of by the moral majority... whoever that happens to be.

AT some point these mechanisms will be fully built for targetting any group, moral or not, Christian, Jew or Pagan... and the "religion SHOULD be government" crowd will finally have won their battle to pervert our secular democratic republic, into a totalitarian religious state.

Unfortuneately it will be one that the muslims will likely seize as their own, simply by means of their intended demographic population bomb, here in the USA.

They mean to breed our way of life OUT of existence, and take over the entire system, using the very same enforcement mechanisms forged by our finest "moral police." And here we THOUGHT these mechanisms would serve to reinforce our religious and moral values.

It's WAY past time to shove government back in its box, and religious legislators into theirs...

Some folks applaud this type of attempt at criminalizing, regulating and legislating to death, those LEGAL activities and income methods they don't approve.

It is good to keep in mind that one day, the left will regain power, even if Islam does not. I don't think that is a good thing.

How soon we forget that the right barely won power this last presidential election. It remains to be seen if the "war on terror" is alone, sufficient to keep the religious right, via president Bush, in power for another four years.

Every once and a while "the People" get fed up with ever increasing levels of government intrusion. This kind of legal maneuvering on a local level, is reflective of the general attempt by government leaders as a whole, to clamp down on the overly exuberant freedoms that certain constituencies deem immoral. They are playing to the more extreme elements of the REALLY religious right.

and sometimes, the average joe revolts at the ballot box.
the pendulum swings back. violently at times.

I don't think we need to strve at building "the perfect beast," just because we won an electoral majority, by the skin of our teeth last election. Turnabout one day, will be fair play.

The beast will be gnashing its rather steely teeth at our own exposed hinderparts... and without us being strippers either.

Overheard from Persian customer at the Men's Club: "What's this??? I can stay home if that's what I'm going to see."

This could prove to be extremely dangerous for those in the business. I hope the city of N.O. is ready for numerous liability lawsuits.

>>How long before a muslim stripper claims that it is against her religion to be photographed for an ID?<<

And, I might add, she will also claim it's against her religion to actually STRIP. Of course, she will then sue the club for religious discrimination for firing or not hiring her.

Oh, think about it. . .after a life living under a rug I imagine the "woman" may be much like a prune. . .dark, shriveled and able to loosen your bowels.

Democrats. There is no government agency addressing this pressing need. Yet.

You need a license to strip????

Oh, yes. Where I live, you need a license to strip AND you need a license to be an adult "escort". In other words the hookers need a license too. Just another tax.

But I'll bet they pay little to no income tax at all. This may just be a way to tax them as we do live in a tax state so strippers, and hookers should be no exception.

That star was pretty insightful, since we know the reason for this requirement is to target "undesirables" in the community.

What the crap is this country coming to? What sort of regulations that need to be enforced can only be so if a stripper wears an ID badge while performing?

"Sorry, Ms. Bambi, that shave is a little too close. I'm gonna have to bring you downtown."

Don Cheatham

I wonder if he's of the firm Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe, oft mentioned on The Three Stooges. Seems to fit the bill.

Perhaps it should be, but this story isn't about New Orleans - it's about my hometown of Houston.

Tape it to their foreheads.
No one looks at their faces anyway.
