This week will be difficult and emotional, but also bittersweet: displaying our country's proud traditions, and our beliefs in a higher purpose and honor. Those things, to me, are Reagan's best legacy anyway. God rest and keep him.

Well said, Lainie.

I remember the 1976 GOP convention when President Ford called Reagan up to the podium and asked him to say a few words.

You could tell Reagan was caught a little off guard, but he stepped up to the podium and delivered a short, eloquent speech. After his speech, I remember people commenting that they had just nominated the wrong man.

I will miss him.

Sure enough!

Drudge mentioned Peggy Noonan will be on when he goes national. How about that? Makes me happy 8^)

You can predict the future!

Speaking of the attempted assassination, I was reminded of Reagan's quote, "I forgot to duck." :)

My husband and I were talking last night about how this world would be different if we'd had Reagan's input over the last ten years. Imagine if the crud out of Carter and Clinton's mouths had been countered point-by-point by the Great Communicator. Clinton might not even have been elected to two terms. The what-if list could go on forever.

Reagan would be working the Internet, absolutely. 'Here's to liberty.'

Can't make it there but I think I will take the Ronald Reagan trail to Eureka College, feel like I have to be somewhere.

Haven't felt such a sense of lose since my father died.

Late yesterday PM, I heard a comment from George H. W. Bush (radio). I could hardly believe what I heard!! He was praising Ronald Reagan, and then he said something about "The New World Order".

He had no business saying that in the same context with praising President Reagan. I can't believe that Ronald Reagan would promote "The New World Order"!!

Your comment, lainie?

More than 100,000 people are expected to visit Pres. Reagan at the Capitol rotunda.

My comment is, "wow," although it's difficult to tell if he was just referring to the fall of the Soviet Union. That's a "new world order" of sorts. But wow.

I saw some New Zealand paper write a story about Reagan being an "enigma," and illustrating their point with an old photo of Nancy, Ronnie, and Michael Jackson in the mid 80's.

Thanks for confirming what I heard. Afterward I wondered if I really heard that, even tho it was very loud and clear and I was near the radio.
