Kerry was in a no-win situation. He also issued a very respectful statment about President Reagan and stopped his campaign for the week.

OMG!
Are you serious?
He hated RWR.
He brought along a cameraman!
WHY?
To be on tonight's news.
Guess what?
He was.
Name one other US Senator who barged in
on the "public viewing" of RWR?
You can't, because Kerry is the only one.

This was the most crass and totally blantant
attempt to politicize RWR's passing imaginable.
Kerry is totally void of shame and decency.

Nancy Reagan wouldn't take his phone call. Class in action.

I have not watched Kerry's appearance. If he brought a cameraman it was in bad taste, however, I thought his statement re: Reagan was a good one. Yes, I know that he has said things in the past that are bad. No, I don't believe his current statements were perhaps sincere, but the statement was issued correctly. Let's not get so deep into hate that we lose site of the fact that Ronald Reagan himself didn't viscerally hate his opponents. I choose NOT to hate as do those at DU.
