That is apples and oranges. A myopic comparison at best. Maybe a woman should be jailed for drinking and killing a fetus that she didnt even know existed yet in her. I am not pro-abortion but I also am not so blind to the fact that as we speak millions of babies are being killed for worthless causes, at least since they have already been killed by somebody elses hand then we should at least give them a chance at providing life to those who cherish it. Otherwise just like you are being selfish as much as they who commited the crime of abortion.

Thats right there is no ban on stem cell research, there is a ban on harvesting new lines from embryo's. Which people can claim that stem cells from adults are just as good, the science simply doesnt prove out on that.

Yes I do have an agenda. I believe that all life deserves a chance, and if that means using the life of those who have already been damned so be it.It is a burgeoning field, unquestionable. It is the future of medical cures for genetic diseases.

I think you meant ban on embryonic stem cells. There is no ban on using adult stem cells.

I thought they can get stem cells another way without using fetal cannibalism.

I'm glad that morality is relative in your world. It's not in mine.

If the ban was the right decision at the time (and I believe it was). It is still the right decision.

I think President Bush should take a page from President Reagan's book and stand up for what he truly believes in.

I do know that destroying an embryo is destroying life... what is your point? Using stem cell from a destroyed embryo is acceptable to save the life of another??? I guess the end justifies the means??

Yes..your definition of Pro Life is different than mine..

..."those who have already been damned" Who determines that???

...I agree, an individual that wants to donate their body to science should not restricted from doing so...

You Do realize, don't you, that embryonic stem cells DO NOT come from aborted fetuses?

Just a small point, but nearly every thread on this this past week has either ignored it totally or the folks on them have been uninformed on the fact.

The cells used are taken from frozen embryos left over from fertility treatments, which would have been destroyed. They were never even implanted in a woman. Once again, THEY WOULD BE DESTROYED ANYWAY.

The hyperbole about "strip-mining babies" or "cannabalism" or "cloning for spare parts" is little more than hysterical hand-wringing.
