Abusive Federal Prosecutors in Pointless Gun-Rights Case
Nashville Files (blog) ^ | June 16, 2004 | Blake Wylie

People, what the government is doing here is a travesty. They have exceeded their Constitutional limits and there’s nothing you or anyone else can do about it. The sad fact is that this goes on all the time all over the country, but this is the first time you have probably witnessed this through someone you know personally.

I may be in danger of sounding like an "extremist right wing nut," but I am not. I am a law abiding citizen who loves his country. I am also of the belief that our country was founded on faith in God, and today that might make me an "extremist," but guess what…most of you who read this are in the same category. You have been forced into a corner that if you express your faith you are considered an extremist and intolerant. However, we all sit here in our comfortable spaces with blinders on so that we may not incur the wrath of those that might be offended and then label us "fundamentalists" or "extremists." Where has our country gone?

I know where it's headed. But, I also know its people like you, me, and lots of others I know, who are gearing up to take it back. We the People Know Our Rights; we can invoke those rights at any time, just takes organization, faith and patriotism.

I believe the organization necessary to end this travesty is in its beginning stages. The United Staes was built by people of religion and ethics it will be saved by same.

Sadly history and prophesy say differently.

I read some of the posts on the blog. I'm a bit confused on what the issue is here. If this guy wanted to own machine guns, why not just get the Class 3 license and buy them to his heart's content? I was at a gunshow in the Phila. PA area last week and saw several for sale, including a sweet, like-new M2 .50 cal.

One of the posts mentions that a welder was seized during the raid. I'll assume that he was repairing demil/dewat reveivers. If he wanted the MG's for a private collection, i.e. not for firing, then why weld/repair the frame and lose the protection of their dewat status?

I'm assuming that his state allows Class 3 ownership.

I think you are right that prophesy says different, if we are indeed living in the end times. But that does not mean one should give up the battle. If we are to retreat, we should do it facing the enemy, fighting until our death.

Oh, I agree with you wholeheartedly. It does give one some comfort knowing that there is a plan and that though evil may be ever increasing in our world, it's days are numbered.

But that does not mean one should give up the battle. If we are to retreat, we should do it facing the enemy, fighting until our death.

This is one that I struggle with. What is required of those of us who are supposed to be in the world but not of the world. Don't get me wrong, I am a fighter for what I believe is right, but sometimes it seems so futile, knowing that evil, before its destruction WILL have it's way with the world.

I posed this question to my husband because it really bothered me. He said what I said, only better. Something about continuing to do as God requires, to always fight evil, not run from it.

The end battle is between good and evil after all - it is spiritual and fleshly - as Christians, we must continue to fight evil. Its our job until Christ returns, something we should not shirk.

Sounds like you married well. (I am also so blessed with my wife.)

He painted a pretty clear yet simple picture of how to do it.

1. The greatest commandment.
2. The great commission.

May I add that you are worthy of your screen name!

Well, thanks very much.

I'm an old "B" ya know? I've been there and done "all that", and unfortunately have grown a bit intolerant thru the years. Probably because, even hungry with not two pennys to rub together, I never asked for a hand-out. When I was bummimng around the country like a liberal in the 70's I slept outside for lack of a roof - hey! all that was me own fault, when I got ready to straighten out - I did!

I've paid my own way and taken the consequences for my actions, good and bad. I sleep in the bed I make. So, when I mouth off, It comes from the background of having :walked the walk".
