And the Republicans seem to have abandoned concern with reducing the size of government. It's bizarre how close we are to totalitarian Communism already. I guess they figure you can hoodwink most of the people ALL of the time.

Was that a rant, a whine, or a whinge?

Maybe....one of the reasons we have big government is that the non-Liberals (including Conservatives...) allowed the Left to almost totally dominate academia, the legal profession, the courts, big government/bureaucracy, labor, entertainment, etc. If Conservatives dominated big government (instead of running away from it a crying about it) and then practiced what they preach, then big government would shrink from within. Remaining on the outside (whining and whinging) isn't working. Yes? No? And.....Third Parties are third rate

I agree with you. That's why I have a ton of respect for Dr. Paul's Republican Liberty Caucus. They are trying to move the GOP back to it's individual-liberty oriented roots from within.

Everbody supports non-Constitutional B-I-G government when its their party doing it. Part of the "you want to win, don't you?" philosophy.

The freedom we enjoy today is the direct result of the commitment of men and women who refused to compromise their ideals. Certainly they failed at times, but they understood that the goal was liberty. Today our government and society seem to have lost sight of this goal.
