Elizabeth Edwards Defends Whoopi Raunchfest

The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.

Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.

"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

Hubby isn't UNattractive, but nobody would honestly call him "pretty" either. He'd be the first to laugh.

There are handsome men and pretty men.

Gals go for handsome men. A handsome man moves like a man, walks like a man and looks like a man. A handsome man is good looking.. but not pretty.

But as you say, gals do not like to compete with pretty men for the makeup mirror or the nylon hose without runners.

I have a 30 year old son who is single and not bad looking. We go to dinner together every week. Last week I remarked it was a slow night. He looked puzzled. I said, "Only 4 females came to our table to talk to you."

He replied,"Dad if you ever put out the word that you're in the market, you would attract more females than I do."

I think the kid is working on his inheritance.

“I took my son’s name,” she said briskly. “I didn’t take my husband’s name."

Hillary! would be proud of such a disgusting statement.

Why do you think Hillary wanted Edwards for Veep?

Dick Morris keeps hinting that there is lots of dirt in Edward's background. If there is and Morris knows it , he likely got that infomation when he was working for the Clintons.

I am certain that when Bill and Hill were in the oval office they got the dirt on every Congressman Senator and, Governor in the nation reguardless of party. I think there is little doubt Hillary wants to run in 2008. That means Bush must win in 2004.

There are reason the Clintons want Kerry over Dean and Edwards over Gephardt. It most likely has to do with dirt and electability. My personal opinion is that Dean would have done better than Kerry in the General election.

But it tells you something when a liberal New England aristocrat picks a southerner who could not beat him in Georgia as his running mate.

When an aristocratic New Englander defeats a Southern Democrat in Georgia... that Southerner has to be one terrible candidate. But Kerry won the Georgia primary and that speaks volumes.

Running against Jane Fonda, Babs Streisand, and Whoopi Goldberg? Should be an interesting election campaign.

Um...isn't Whoopi a furloughed ex-con, i.e., a convicted felon?

Did you see #270? That's what I found about Edwards; I am still looking for how the draft was handled before the lottery.

I know Kerry was coming up for induction -- because he called his draft board and asked them if he could take another year and go to -- TADA!!! -- France, but they said no!

You'd think I would remember because I am Bush's age! I'll find it though and ping you.

And thanks for the kind words!

But post more! We need every voice we can get from now until the election!

So .. the only way to express anger is with a filthy mouth! Sorry .. that doesn't cut it with me.

And .. this is the woman with 2 small children .. and she thinks these statements by Whoopi are acceptable as "American values" ..?? She's a very bad mother.
