The very first RLK piece I came across was The Matrix.
RLK is a very bright man.
He wrote THIS over at the "Laissez-Faire City Times" when I stumbled on it and posted it here.
I always took the time to read what he and Mortimer had posted. Very insightful men and intelligent in a way you just don't see very often.

I'm so saddened to hear this. Please relay my sympathy to RLK and his family.
To: ETERNAL WARMING
My deepest condolences to his family.
We had our differences on this forum and it was always my hope to continue the dialogue in order to find some common ground.
May he find his peace in Jesus' name.

My sincerest condolences to the Snavely family...
About RLK, the last I remember of him, he got into an argument about Bush being a worthless coaster in life, wouldn't back down, and the hammer obviously fell.
I'd like to see him back though, he wasn't all about grumpy obstinance. His writings were often very interesting, and he was one of the best posters here.

How sad. My prayers for Mortimer and his family and loved ones.

Very sad news. I joined FR in September 2000 and I was given a warm welcome by Mortimer. Sad to see him go.

Mortimer, I don't think I ever knew you, but 44 is far too young. I am glad you were here, I am sorry you are gone. Rest in Peace.
Please someone pass on my sympathies to RLK and to Mortimer's family.

You just go until it's done. And that's that. Doesn't work for everyone. Lighten up a little on those who aren't just willing or waiting to croak.

Too bad RLK hadn't listened to the words of Mortimer Snavely:
I use a particular terminology to get around this conceptual mess by distinguishing between Muslims and Islamicists. There is a profound difference. I have observed that Muslims are, by and large, regular folks who basically want to live unmolested, be successful entrepreneurs, and take care of their families. They tend to hang out in libraries, and are content to live as peaceable, law abiding citizens under secular, democratic government. Their young men's serious leisure interests tend to focus on girls, soccer, and beer, and their young women's include alluring swimwear, fashion trends, and movies such as Titanic. Islamicists, on the other hand, want to burn down those same libraries, and are willing to kill themselves and their children to destroy everything and everyone that stands in the way of Islamic world domination. They have no part time interests other than furthering those goals.
For a good understanding of how the distinction can be made practicable, spend some time in Istanbul and Turkish beachfront resorts.

Reminds me of one of e-buddies from the NOBAN (No Assault Weapons Ban) list. One of the founders of NOBAN and of the DeFoley8 movement which defeated a sitting Speaker of The House. He too died of a heart attack. At his post, so to speak. His aunt found his body slumped over his MAC keyboard. He was little older than Mort, but still only in his 50s. He lived on his family's ranch near Yoakum Texas, not far from Gonzales and Goliad. A true son of Texas he was. (Not that he limited himself to his keyboard, he was out and about the country as well. He introduced me to the former head of the NRA-ILA (she wasn't former then). His name was Jim Bohan, but he was known to his cyber friends as LoboAzul, aka the Old Blue Howler of the South Texas Plains. You might know him as the cop "Holstein" in "American Graffiti", or as a bit part actor on various 60s TV shows, although mostly he was a screenwriter who couldn't stand Hollywood.
We miss him terribly, but if you hear maniacal laughter and a terrible howling sound from on high, or knowing him perhaps from down below, on September 14th, you'll know that Lobo is still with us and prevailed in the long run.

Our family's deepest condolences.........so very sad. To the arms of the Lord.......

Mort and I did not agree on certain issues, and so what...he was persistant, consistant and his integrity was always above question. I am sure that there are folks close to him who are mourning and for whom life now is lessened. Our prayers and condolances go out to them.
