Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. The folk-pop trio has enjoyed a family-friendly image for decades, and has even done albums of children's songs. Back in 1970, however, Yarrow pleaded guilty to taking "immoral and improper liberties" with a 14-year-old girl.
According to media reports, the girl and her 17-year-old sister went to Yarrow's hotel room seeking an autograph, and the musician answered the door naked and made a sexual advance that stopped short of intercourse. The 14-year-old victim resisted his advances but did not shout or leave the room.
Yarrow served three months of a one- to three-year prison term. In 1981, he was pardoned by President Jimmy Carter. The singer has acknowledged the incident as "the most terrible mistake I have ever made." Today, it is all but forgotten.

Yarrow served time for child molestation. Carter pardoned him. That's the part of the story you won't be hearing about.

If I remember correctly, it was in the month just prior to the lead-up to the Iowa caucus earlier this year.

Meanwhile, do people realize that Peter is a convicted child molestor?

Get over it dude... up here in MA they have child-molesters placed in appartments close to the elementary schools. The fat, lazy cops pick'em up and the gay, socialist judges let'em go. Ya gotta be 'progressive' man! /sarcasm.

Kerry owes his career to marijuana. It and heroin pervaded the workforce and military in the late 60's to mid 70's. Without them, America wouldn't have abandoned its soldiers in Viet Nam and John Kerry would have gone the route of Jane Fonda, the Berrigan brothers and Timothy Leary.

Because he was in the military, he gave traitors a facade of credibility they couldn't get on their own. I remember the times too well.

I used to make that gesture all the time and I never took a hit off a twig in my life.

Well, that's not the point, now is it?

Here's the point:

Translation of that "gesture,": "Hey look at me, we're insiders about this - I'm an insider too, eh? - and we're being cool by singing about marijuana smoking - yeah, cool, eh?"

He's got the Libertarian vote.

To the Libertarians if he can mimic smoking a roach, he can't be that bad, and afterall pot legalization is there #1 issue.

I guess. I have done that with friends who used to smoke it. I did it in a mocking manor. I just dont see a big deal and the rest of America wont either after the Clinton "presidency"...

Yeah? Well in this case if Bush was a drinker then Kerry is a pot stinker?!

Exposing drug user history is not a path that will benefit Bush.
