His Republican opponent (Sheryl Albers) seems to me to be acceptably conservative...and I fancy myself a strict-constructionist. I live in their district and would make a great libertarian, but I feel that the libertarians and republicans should duke it out only after the liberals have been dispatched...and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon here in the peoples republic of wisconsin, til then, voting libertarian will only help elect demons.
Anyone who even bends on the sanctity of property rights, especially with a socialist-flavored "Smart Growth" name, should be suspect. If that's her only flaw, still that's too great a compromise. Liberals LOVE erosion of property rights, and if they get their hands on those laws, they'll pervert them to fit their agendas.
So, you live up in that district. What's the real reason the GOP has it in for Kuester, to the point of filing complaints about his website content? I checked it out, and if the beef is with the comments about public servants being "pigs at the trough", and Kuester didn't name anyone specifically, then the GOP up there just made themselves look foolish. People have been saying for DECADES that politicians are pigs that feed off our largesse; hell, Will Rogers made a living saying that.
I notice the GOP up there were upset over Kuester putting the word "bill" in place of the word "law", in reference to getting rid of the Smart Growth nonsense. Was that really a good reason for a complaint to the election commission? That's like a liberal whining that you didn't dot the "i".
My theory is it's revenge for Ed Thompson's last showing. How close am I?
