Almost everything in Houston is reachable via public transportation. Call 713.635.4000, tell them where you are and where you want to go, and they'll tell you which buses to take and how long the trip will be.
However, it's on the direct opposite side of town from you. The one at Richmond and Chimney Rock mentioned up-thread would be closer.

Seriously, though; if you mean "clean and well-lighted" just say so.
You'll usually pay quite a bit extra for that perk; I personally don't give a rip if a place has lace doilies on the firing line, if it's convenient, cheap, and safe.
And poorly-lighted just better simulates the defensive-weapons scenario.
