Gen Tommy Franks says in his book, and in some recent tv interviews, that the mission accomplished stuff was HIS IDEA - his soldiers needed some recognition and closure.

General Tommy Franks has just revealed in his book that he was the one who suggested the "Mission Accomplished" sign. It was done because there were other nations who would not get involved until "major combat operations" were over.

So here's the President taking all this heat, while he could have said, it was Tommy's fault. This is such a good sign of his character.
