It's not raining at Watkins Glen, but NASCAR was forced to cancel Friday's activities because of a wet track. Unable to keep moisture from seeping onto the racing surface, Sunday's Sirius at the Glen starting lineup was set by owner's points, meaning road-racing veterans Boris Said and Scott Pruett are going home.
And you just ruined my weekend. My only hope is y'all had picked them also for this race...
(see Jayski's for the rules; Nascar for the points, and oh yeah, no qualifying bonus for Fantasy League)
- 1-35 by owners' points (you know who they are ;-) , then...
- Last year's Cup champ if not in (er, Kenseth's 5th)
- Any owners whose team won this year or last if not in yet (they're all in)
- Any drivers who won this year or last if not in yet (they're all in)
- Any past Cup champ if not in (they're all in; sorry Captain Kirk, being a champ crew chief doesn't count)
- Qualifying attempts with owners' points as the tiebreaker, which means...
36th - Todd Bodine in the #50 (all 21 races so far attempted for the team, 37th in points)
37th - Jimmy Spencer in the #4 (36th in points, but only 20 attempts so far)
38th - Larry Gunselman in the #98/198 (14 attempts)
39th - Kirk Shelmerdine in the #72/172 (13 attempts)
40th - Morgan Shepherd in the #89 (12 attempts; 40th in points)
41st - Hermie Sadler in the #02 (12 attempts, but 42nd in points)
42nd - Tony Ave in the #80/280 (first attempt for the driver, but the team has 7 attempts)
43rd - Ron Fellows in the #1 (5 attempts)
Members of the drivers' pool missing the race - Boris Said and Scott Pruett (1 attempt each for the team they're driving for this weekend).
(Thanks WestCoastGal and Steveegg for this nice compilation.)
