Where do we find out information about the others that received purple hearts?

Diamond Don, I don't quite understand your question. Do you want to know the total number of PH recipients because as you know a person's personal military service record is private unless that person releases it. The website you went to, that info is submitted by those who received a PH or is submitted by someone in their family for instance if the PH recipient was KIA.

Unless something has changed, military records (not military medical records) are available to the public under an FOIA request. I got one on someone about 10 yrs ago and the only thing blacked out was his social security no.
