BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID' (MORE KITTY KELLY GARBAGE)

BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID'

And wife Laura liked dope, says book

GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims.

His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth.

Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s.

She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either."

Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine".

Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes.

"I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office."

Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years.

Kelley says that the Bush family covered up scandals because of their wealth and influence. She claims George W started drinking at school and continued at Yale university to overcome shyness.

Former student Torbery George says in the book: "Poor Georgie. He couldn't relate to women unless he was loaded."

Another says: "He went out of his way to act crude. It's amazing someone you held in such low esteem later became president."

His supporters have slammed the allegations as outrageous.

The White House said: "This book appears to be filled with the same trash discredited years ago."

-BILL Clinton has joked he will try to be happy about his heart bypass operation. The ex-president said on his website: "This sure isn't how we planned to spend Labor Day weekend but we're doing our best to enjoy it."

I believe the college experimentation part is at least possible (although I do question how much Dubya experimented, because I question how prevalent coke was at Yale then, even among the senior-club crowd). Any more recently than that, I want more than Sharon and Kitty's word on it.

As to the part about Dubya getting drunk to overcome his shyness and acting stupid at parties: I went to college in the eighties (UC Riverside, Phi Kappa Sigma, damned glad to meet you) and believe me...story of my life at the time. Legendarily so, among my chapter brothers. Apparently both of us survived and grew beyond it. I sympathize completely.

they probably think that the so called Holey Rollers won't vote for Bush after all this dope stuff comes out. What they fail to realize is that even IF the religious right did believe it they have faith in Divine forgiveness and redemption. Bush has admitted he has made mistakes and believes in the God given right to be forgiven and start over. No votes lost here.

And I would think that if he were an ex doper that that would ATTRACT democrats like flies to...their kind of man

Remember Zell Miller's line about Bush living that line in Amazing Grace "Was Blind, but now I see..."

"They already have claimed that but there were no drug tests until 1981."

Well, actually, I remember taking one in '73.

I really have little concern about this nonsense. It is so obvious and the same people have been trying this since Bush ran in the primary.

I believe most people will rank it up there with the "Star" or the "Globe" and a story like "Woman Gives Birth to Alien Baby".

In fact, I think the desperation, if it has any effect at all, will hurt the Dems and not lay a glove on Bush.

There is no comparison between the tabloid filth and the Swift Boat Vets.

You're not joking are you? If these are the allegations the woman is insane to think we'd believe that. Maybe it's a VRWC get Kitty to write a book so far out as to be unbelievable and act like the Dimocrats pushed it. LOL

Is this the book that Sharon Bush was involved with, or is this an exclusive by Kitty Kelly?

The fact that drudge put this on his site shows how pathetic he has gotten since more and more internet news sites have come online.

Kitty Kelly is an idiot.

Her quotes come from unnamed sources, a liberal, and (if she really said this) a disgruntled divorced spoused who has been discredited on other issues.

Kelly timed this with the DNC's help....you can bet on it.

But it seems so bogus that it is laughable.

One thing that the article is screwed up on...is that it claims that Bush admitted to being an alcoholic. I've never seen him make that statement. He has indicated that he felt that social drinking was not responsible since he had two daughters.
When asked by a CNN interviewer in 2000 is he was an alcoholic...he said no...

It is good that charges are so over the top. Unless Kelly has real hard evidence, nobody as a result will give it much credibility, except a few bitter hard core Bush haters.

Never underestimate the media if they want to use Kelly's book to trash Bush.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could do a book about Kitty Kelley's life, and include all the embarrassing and degrading moments, not to mention uncovering her underhanded methods of gathering the BS she puts in her books? It's one book I'd buy.

i guess it's been written-somewhere in a used book box i think i have it, as yet unread....suggest you do a google search-i can't just now.

Howard Fineman on Imus this morning said that Newsweek had been approached to buy/run excerpts from the book but they passed because the scurrilous allegations came from one person who is the ex-sister-in law who may have her own motivation. We'll see who else declines.

The question is: Will 60 Min. put Kitty Kelly on?

I think she'll get a lot of interview time if the powers that be believe it will have enough of an adverse impact on Bush that there will be no repercussions from the Bush camp because there will be no Bush camp after the election. The MSM doesn't want to risk be frozen out for the next 4 years if they misjudge.

Ashley was with Pierce at the convention. Lauren was overseas studying in Australia. Lauren does tend to be photographed with her mother very much. Lauren didn't attend her father's wedding either. C-span interviewed Neil, Ashley and Pierce on the convention floor prior to the start of the last day of the convention. Sharon really takes it out on the family. She was livid and blaming Barbara and Poppy Bush for not making her marriage work and taking her side. She also lied about Neil having supposedly fathered his recent wife's son.

That charge that Neil fathered the baby was despicable but it did show her to be an unhinged vicious liar willing to harm her family and the little boy out of spite and vitriol.

Any charges she makes are to be taken in the context of an unstable woman.

I remember reading about her attacking Barbara and GHW Bush and claiming threats were made against her. I was disgusted to learn of Neil's behavior but she is a whackjob. And look at what she turns out to be-those charges are completely refutable. We are supposed to believe that Bush gave up the bottle but kept up a cocaine habit right into his Dad's presidency? And brought it to Camp David?? It is clear she is a liar. She and Kitty Kelley need to be charged with slander. And the Today show is going to dedicate 3 DAYS to that witch next week!! The Bushes should ban anyone from the administration or family with having anything to do with the Today show from now on.
