BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID' (MORE KITTY KELLY GARBAGE)

BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID'

And wife Laura liked dope, says book

GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims.

His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth.

Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s.

She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either."

Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine".

Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes.

"I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office."

Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years.

Kelley says that the Bush family covered up scandals because of their wealth and influence. She claims George W started drinking at school and continued at Yale university to overcome shyness.

Former student Torbery George says in the book: "Poor Georgie. He couldn't relate to women unless he was loaded."

Another says: "He went out of his way to act crude. It's amazing someone you held in such low esteem later became president."

His supporters have slammed the allegations as outrageous.

The White House said: "This book appears to be filled with the same trash discredited years ago."

-BILL Clinton has joked he will try to be happy about his heart bypass operation. The ex-president said on his website: "This sure isn't how we planned to spend Labor Day weekend but we're doing our best to enjoy it."

Remember the video of Bush that made the rounds on the internet back during the 2000 election race? It was the one of him supposedly drinking with a group of friends at a wedding reception? Of course it turned out to be false. As I recall, Drudge had it on his website at one point. This book is nothing more than slander, based on unproven allegations. Exactly what the Democrats historically deal in.

If it's true that Sharon Bush provided this b*tch with family info, it only shows what a shallow and unethical person she is. I wonder how much she was paid? Her husband leaves her and she takes it out on the whole family? What a pathetic piece of crap.

"Here's a prediction. The Kerry campaign will claim that Bush didn't take the flight physical because the urine test would show he used drugs."

That line has already been used.

"I want to know what kind of drugs John Kerry took back in the 70's when he was hanging out with his anti-war buddies?? "

Barak Obama is a self-confessed, (supposedly) rehabilitated cocaine user. Where's the press on that?

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could do a book about Kitty Kelley's life, and include all the embarrassing and degrading moments, not to mention uncovering her underhanded methods of gathering the BS she puts in her books? It's one book I'd buy.

Many of the Clinton staffers couldn't get security clearances because of their drug use. That's is according to Gary Aldrich.

You've got it backwards my friend.

The U.S. standard for defamation could hardly be lower. New York Times v. Sullivan basically prevents anyone who can be construed as a "public figure" from suing for defamation.

Britain's libel laws are draconian by U.S. standards. People still win substantial verdicts in defamation cases over there. And IIRC they still have a censor.

If Kelly indeed is releasing her book there first, she's counting on the liberal British press to slime Bush, because as a foreign head of state he (as a matter of P.R.) can't bring a libel suit against her. I also wonder whether the British courts would have jurisdiction over her (as opposed to the publisher.)

These claims are so riduculous and outlandish they're laughable.

None of this drivel will stick. Kerry's incredibly inept campaign, his obvious lack of qualifications to be dog catcher, let alone President, the Swift Boat ads and book, TerAYsa's antics, Edwards' lame presence on the ticket, the war on terror, Russia's tragedy, and most of all GW's sterling performance as President...all make Kitty Kelly's efforts less than zero. In the debates some reporter may dredge some of this up in an effort to upset GW, but it won't work.

I love how all of Kitty Litter's leaks originate in the British taboids, when Kitty's book on The Royals can't even be sold.

I wonder if Sharon's kids will want anything to do with her anymore. I read a Vanity Fair article on her and Neil's marrriage and breakup and she has gone insane. This is the lowest of lows however and it will be interesting to see if Lauren, Pierce and Ashley are able to have a good relationship with her.

One day, Laura is a Stepford Wife, the next, she is a pot-smoking round heels. A few months ago, someone tried to float the rumor via an article somewhere (or maybe it was a leak of this book?), that Laura and George were the only 2 members of their class still unmarried when they met at a BBQ and they only got married because no one else would have them. Just months prior, Blount, the AL candidate whose campaign W was working on (under Atwater) was interviewed as part of the AWOL story and Blount called W a dirty name implying he was sleeping/seducing every woman in sight, yet now they say he couldn't work up the nerve to approach a woman unless he was loaded.

I think we can safely say the present strategy is Both Sides Now.

IMO, this is trash, but it is trash that humanizes the Bushes. I doubt there is more than 10% of the electorate who has not tried drugs and fewer who don't know people who did and have since cleaned up their act. W himself does not deny who he was and what he did or how he changed and why.

After 4 campaigns, if this recycled slander is all they can do, plus bringing up ANG/Abu Ghraib, it means they have nothing. The DUI smear worked once. It will not work again and that is borne out by how miserably Mulholland failed to bring down Arnold with the groping smears. It isn't about whether any politician or their family is perfect or hypocritical, it is a referendum on the job W has done and the type of leader we want and need for the next 4 years. The bounce shows W has done well and is preferred over Kerry.

She quotes his former sister-in-law.

That woman is a vindictive, money-grubbing, loon. I read a long piece about her in Vanity Fair. Hell hath no fury...

W better jump in quick and demolish this bastard's lies before it becoming the gospel truth to the public!! I'm still waiting for W to answer the Senior citizen's hike of 11 measly dollars in their health care! My elderly sister in law is beside herself over this tiny hike! She wants to hear the president's view on it! The elderly might be a thorn in W's side this election! W's got the MO and he needs to stump out the lies now before the mediaWHORES get the upper hand again!

I shrug it off. Kitty Kelley is not worth being paid attention to and every one knows her books are made to sell what's in the tabloids. You could call it "The George Bush Is An Alien Space Pod Person" type of genre. Nothing to lose one's sleep over.

I see Pierce on TV with his Dad. As for Lauren, hanging with the libs who knows. I didn't realize there was a third child.

Imagine Pierce is going to college. Good for him, he's had a rough time with ADD.......but this time he seemed quite in control and calm. I said many a prayer for him.

The DUers say that the book also ties the Bush family to the Nazis and repeats the Michael Moore connection to the Saudis.

The book is so over the top that the Duers are advising the Kerry campaign not to even mention it.
