Because when I was in college in 1979-80 in France, I had a bunch of German friends. Now, these buddies were all reading special newsletters and pamphlets that they got from the Greens (not yet with any representation in the gov't) and the Reds back home in Germany. We got into a lot of arguments. They all believed they were reading the "real truth" about the world, and that the Soviets were the more benign superpower.
All through cities in W. Germany at the time, there were "red" stores where the young would shop. The stores were filled with what I considered propaganda. My friends were mostly pre-med students. They were not dumb. Yet they believed all this cr@p that they were reading, and they believed it was written and compiled by truth-seeking German journalists. I thought it was Soviet propaganda.
Well, I was right, after all. It has all been proven now.
Obviously, that was going on in the Viet Nam era as well. The Soviet propaganda machine was very good at getting readers to believe A) the nonsense and B) that it came from decent sources. Kerry was being used by the Communists, and they did such a good job that I think half of what he believes TO THIS DAY comes from their propaganda dept!
True...but that was then.....this is now....and the MSM is fast becoming irrelevant....Free Republic, bloggers, emails, talk radio and FoxNews will spread the word!
No wonder these folks keep calling Republicans liars. They are projecting. They know they were nothing but liars and so they presume that everyone else does nothing but tell lies to advance their political agenda. It never occurred to them that someone might tell the truth to advance their political agenda because they cannot understand that some people might think the truth is a good place to start in trying to ground your life.
This tact could backfire on Kerry, because if he impugns the man as an 'admitted liar', it also means that Kerry concedes that lies about Vietnam "atrocities" were being spewed from his VVAW organization.
Interesting. Of course the mainline media will crucify him now. And factcheck.org and it's new young and liberal staff will fact check him with their Kerry4Prez glasses.
The older Old Media behaving like the modern Old Media. God bless this man for admitting his own version of events and the apology.
Aided of course by the US media such as Dan and Walter. Two pure-bred leftists. I don't think they were in the pocket of the communists but they certainly did not believe in the US and still don't, imho, to this day...especially walter.

I agree. One has to get the word out no matter how hard the alphabets work to try to keep it under wraps.
Three years ago I thought of the media as ghouls after encountering them at EMS scenes. Once I became more active in politics I found out they were much more sinister that simple ghouls. They are elitist bottom feeders who believe that they have to change the world for the sheeple.

I believe it happened. As I recall the WWII vets in the various veterans organizations had a big resentment against Vietnam veterans for some reason. We weren't always accepted as "real" war veterans. Also, there was a whole lot of misinformation and bad press about Vietnam veterans back then, and many people tend to believe the t.v. and newspapers as though they're gospel.
Here is a list of John Kerry's good qualities:
1. He lies
2. He pressures others to give false testimony
3. He exaggerates on official documents saying everyone does it
4. He leaks information
5. He negotiates with the enemy
6. And worse, he whines when anyone calls him on his disgraceful behavior.
