At the main mosque in Rotterdam, the imam is doing a brisk trade. There are no hawkers, no hard sell; only an orderly line of figures snaking down the side-street and around the corner.
In turn, each hands over five euros, takes a book and leaves. Those queuing to buy their copies of Sheikh Abu Bakr Jabir al-Jasairi's book, The Muslim Way, are all men.
The tome, which confirms the right of Muslim men to beat their disobedient wives and rails against the emancipation of women (as well as advocating that homosexuals should be thrown off rooftops and, should they survive, stoned to death) is a big seller among the Netherlands' one million Muslims.
Twelve miles away, in the Dutch parliament building at the Hague, Ayaan Hirsi Ali raises one perfectly arched eyebrow and shrugs her couture-clad shoulders.
"Hardly surprising so many queue up," she says. "Those among them who subject their wives to such treatment are only too happy to buy literature that tells them they are doing no wrong.

Hirsi Ali, now 34, was brought up as a Muslim in Somalia, where she was subjected to female circumcision (a euphemism for genital mutilation, she says with understandable anger) and escaped an arranged marriage by fleeing to the Netherlands in 1992.
Great article. Very scary thought that the major Dutch cities will have muslim majorities in a few years!! We had better wake up and pay attention.
But let a Christian read from the bible about homosexuality being an abomination and they are prosecuted for hate crimes.

Sounds like a courageous woman!
All I can think of when I read about the insidious spread of Islam and its demands to continue to practice the most heinous abuses of women no matter what the law of the land is “Coming soon to a city near you!” If any good can come from 911 perhaps it will be that now some can see it coming!
Multiculturalism is but the official propagation of evil. I got into a long conversation with some socialist-feminists that I was working with at the time last year about how some cultures (using Islamic abuse of women as example) simply are evil and must not be respected or preserved. The only way I prevailed was to keep repeating (screaming) over and over to one of them “You wouldn’t stand by and watch your husband kill your 18 year old daughter!” She finally gave up trying to defend the “poor, underdeveloped, Islamic cultures” (never having encountered an actual conservative in her sheltered, University, work environment before) and said, “No I would not.”
God bless the woman speaking out about the situation in Holland. Has anyone stopped to consider, you don’t need body guards when you openly criticize the local, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist etc… Minister, Buddhist Monk or Jewish Rabbi down the street? Makes you think when you let yourself!

That caricature is rather offensive; what's the purpose of it?
In classical terms, she would be a republican.
Republicans are truly liberal in terms of their belief in individual freedom, free markets, less government interefence in people's lives, etc.
That's the "small l" liberal.
The "Large L" liberal is a hijacking of the term meant to be used as a somokescreen for the abuses of socialism and communism. They are "liberal" only in their speech (i.e. the rights of the common man).
This is a disctinction that has been lost in American politics.
I need more women, slaves and political power myself, say I should invent myself a new religion and claim I'm the only one who can communicate with my god. Anyone who doesn't believe I am the only one and my epilipsy is my special way of talking to god is an Infidel.
