They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are rigth of center...like the ones they just showed.
Can we get a copy of those memos?
This is a crock!
Don't we have many brave soldiers in Iraq right now that are in the National Guard?
What a disservice to these outstanding people.
When will 60 minutes cover Kerry's UN American activities?
This even exceeded my expectations. Rather is Biased beyond anything I've ever seen.
It's hysterical. The number 1 book in the Country never got any attention. Rather only mentioned it to discredit it.
This is really something else.
Rather is my least favorite person on the planet.
If, and I mean if, these memos are genuine, then this is a very big deal.
Interesting--CBS didn't emphasize the Barnes interview--but focused on the found documents.
This is a paper trail that might have legs.
Ben Barnes is a crook. Read Texas history. Enough said.

Who is Ben Barnes
Barnes is a fraud. Greg Knap on KLIF pointed that out today...he also interviewed Will Campenni who flew with Bush.
I am doing a write up of that and will post soon.
AS FAR AS BARNES....
Earlier today...Hannity said that Barnes swore under oath in 1999 that he did not help Bush get into the Guard.
ALSO...It seems that in the past...Barnes has claimed that he helped Bush get into the Guard when he was LT Gov.
The radio made the point that Bush went into the Guard in 68......Barnes was not Lt. Gov until 1969.
(digging up confirmation on that)
The liberal college prof that they showed...has actually done work with the DNC and is friends with Hill Clinton.
I thought it desperate that 60 minutes would say...they had an expert look at the supposed documents to see if a guy really wrote them. THEY WERE TYPED DOCUMENTS.
They guys who they said had the documents...has come out in the past and admitted they were not real. He is dead not...so Rather thought...why not try it again.
Ben Barnes, who represented Comanche County in the legislature in the 1960s while still in his twenties, says that his mentor, the late John B. Connally, Jr., tried to persuade him to switch parties in 1973, when Connally made the bolt. Barnes said that he told Connally he could not do so because he disbelieved in the principles of the Republican Party and was a liberal Democrat at heart.
Do they disclose for all to see that barnes is a kerry contributor/supporter/asp licker?
GHW Bush was a Republican congressman. Trust me--he had no power in Democrat-controlled Texas. I knew who he and Barbara were but I wasn't overly impressed with their "importance."
Of course, I was young and irresponsible--but saw fit to attend precinct meetings.
I didn't have to see this interview to know that it would be about two lifelong TX Democrats swapping stories about how evil some Republican officeholder is.
1. Enlist in the branch of service of your choice.
2. Stand for the draft.
3 If you were wealthy and/or had the proper connections you could enter the Guard. Those were the facts of life.
Relax folks. This NG stuff and the upcoming Kitty Kelley stuff is going nowhere. I think there is alot of stuff that is coming up on Kerry and the MSM had to fire their last topedo before Kerry implodes.
And as much as I hate to say this, next week at this time (probably Monday or Tuesday) all of this coverage will probably be blown away by 24 hour coverage of Hurricane Ivan as it looks like it's going to hit somewhere in the Gulf. The media went ape over a Cat 2 storm in Florence they will probably be having orgasms in covering a Cat 4 storm in Ivan if it stays that strong.
I am going to have to get new glasses. Every time I see his name, I think it reads Ben Raines and you William Johnstone fans will know the person I am talking about.
Hahahahahahah. They aren't showing the program in my area because they are showing a 50 year anniversary show for the local station. BWAHahahahahah!!
I didn't see the interview.
Can anyone answer these questions?
1. Did this guy say he got Bush into the NG while he was Lt. Gov?
2. Is there proof he was Lt/ Gov at the time, and was this before Bush actually got in? B
I ask because I've read he claims he did this as Lt. Gov., but that was in 69, while Bush got in in 68.
Any of your overall impressions of the interview and the charges made welcomed. Sorry if this is ground already covered, I don't have time to check all the posts on this subkect tonight. Thanks!
I went to church (Wed eve church) so I missed it. If I was home, I would've watched the Hawaii detective show.
GOOD LORD! Now I remember why we blocked CBS from our Direct TV. Dan Rather on the news did nothing but attack. Bush. The first 20 minutes were nothing but attacks. Except for a short update on how Clinton is pulling through beyond everyones expectations.
Attack Stories were:
Bush's National Guard record. (first story)
Campaign trail shots of Kerry trashing Bush.
Hurricane damage in FL, Yes he attacked Bush on it to. He's not doing enough, making the same mistakes his Father made during Andrew with aid coming to slow, showed one angry woman yelling, "where's the calvary".
1000 dead in Iraq, They showed the same anti-war Mother they always drag out who's Son has been killed, and she wore a shirt saying, "President Bush killed my Son".
That's all I could take. Back to FNC.
