This is one heck of a hit piece. Going from that statement to Kelley's screed is one miserable piece of journalism. And, I'm going to write to let ol' Matt know.
It is a stupid act, not a desparate act. It will not be the last one of those I can assure you.
The letter and response go to Bushs character and pride of a grateful father. The media and libs can try to make someting of this but it will go over as well as their contention that bush could not be in the Guard and Air Force at the same time.

Eventually it's going to dawn on people that if Dubya really wanted to use connections to escape service & danger he made lousy use of it going into the TANG for a six-year committment?
With all this clout why didn't he give a job for say six months as a journalist on a highly protected military base in Vietnam. Then he could claim to be a Vietnam vet if he was thinking about a political future?
Or why didn't he use his pull to get a job as a staff flunky in Washington or Europe or Japan? What kind of committment would that have been? Two years? I could be wrong.
The more I hear about Dubya the more I like the guy.

The White House has said repeatedly that all of Bush's Guard records have been disclosed, only to be embarrassed when new documents have turned up.
What evidence is there that the WH is "embarrassed? Tsk tsk. Young Matt is making things up here, I'm afraid. That's a big "no no", as Mrs. Knox might say.

We've actually seen this article from the "Houston papers". In other words, nothing new was uncovered except they thought GWB was a great guy. (Oh, I know, "Bush's critics" will say they were just saying that).

AP filed a FOIA suit against the military & a judge recently ruled that the military had to dig for records & turn everything they found to AP.
Or how about go to Nam, make up three phony wounds, and get shipped back home as a "war hero"?
I know AP intends this as an attack on President Bush, but I don't see anything bad about it. They are really reaching.

Killian already stated that Bush's 35-10 (36-2903 now) was always above standards, which is one of the things his father admired about Bush, his professionalism. I know you are being tongue in cheek, but perhaps the MSM will read this thread and save the bandwidth in case they come across another favorable document that the Pentagon finds.

Geeze! His father was an American pilot in WWII. Perhaps it's the liberal mind set but why can none of them seem to comprehend that Bush the Younger just might have admired and respected his father, Bush the Elder, so very much that he wanted to follow in those very large footsteps?
