Matt Drudge just announced that CBS will admit, maybe as soon as tomorrow, that they were 'deceived' and are launching an intensive, in-depth investigation.

They were deceived?...THEY were deceived??!!!

CBS is the be-all and end-all of vicious deceivers, with their gang of arrogant Alzheimer leftists, led by doddering old canard and mega-fraudulent Rather.

Not going to work, Danny.

We've known they were frauds for a week. We've watched you try to convince us otherwise for a week.

IF, let's say IF CBS was initially deceived, if we take Bernie's commentary at face value on the workings of Liberal news institutions, CBS is still guilty, once it was known they were forgeries, of trying to convince the American people they were not.

Should have come clean last week. Too Late.

Why does their "ACKNOWLEDGEMENT" matter one bit?

I apologize for my THIRD post but now I'm wondering who the heck is Dan Rather's supposed UNIMPEACHABLE SOURCE. How is dan going to explain how absolutely sure he was about the story, after going on and on about how this story was so exhaustively vetted, just like every other CBS story is, exhaustively double checked and confirmed, blah blah...
What a collapse of credibility.

Gotta love CBS'S timing. Guess they figured everyone would be glued to the 'Oil for Food' scandal. Good time to admit they were duped.

Yes, CBS execs don't sound happy with Rather's Burkett interview. Burkett didn't come out well, so CBS is throwing Burkett overboard and pleading guilty to peddling forgeries.

Wow, I'm shocked if this is the case. Didn't think they'd do anything but deny until after the election.

This election is over. Rather has blown it. I think they're trying to cut off further investigation into the link between the Kerry campaign-Rather-the docs.

I think the link between Cleland and Burkett shows a quid pro quo.

We must now ask Kerry: What did you know Senator and when did you know it?

They won't do any such thing; the only reason Rather would go interview Burkett is if he thinks it will help HIM.

If Burkett doesn't have the originals, which he doesn't, then I don't see how they can continue to stonewall. The brass at CBS wouldn't allow it (assuming they are sane).

I just heard about CBS caving in on Drudge's radio show, and he was wondering who they would pick as the fall guy.

It won't be Rather.

I smell a rat (surprise).

Rather zooms off to Dallas, meets with Burkett.

They decide that Burkett should say HE was deceived by the person who gave him the docs, and that HE isn't going to say who it is, and he'll go to jail rather than reveal the source. Maybe as a bonus he says it's a mythical GOP operative who hoodwinked him.

Rather says "what can we do? we were deceived, it happens."

Rather "saves face" (in his twisted little mind), enough to survive at CBS until he retires. Burkett takes the heat (what does he care, and besides he may be getting DNC money to keep his mouth shut).

Short of a smoking gun proving what I believe is happening, only falling ratings (into the Grand Canyon) and intense outrage from affiliates and advertisers will take this guy off the air.

CBS does have a flare for the understatement. Decieved? Their credibility is as thin as a gnats a** stretched over a rain barrell and they want "decieved?"

Dewey Comptons farm news has more audience than they do.

TECHNOMAGE WROTE: "Blather is in Texas interviewing someone, have not caught the name as I just turned on the radio."

He flew down to Texas to interview Burkett.
