More from the ONeill protest on Saturday. An article:

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/front/2802707

"Who in their right mind would attack a veteran who actually volunteered to go to Vietnam?" protester John Cobarruvias asked. "Attacking a veteran who went to war, who got shot at, is wrong."

And pictures:

Thanks for putting these pictures on FR. I went over there and took several pictures but my son has not had time to put them on FR for me.

I have the statement that John O'Neil wrote & handed out to the protesters.
STATEMENT OF THE O'NEILL FAMILY:

"We regret very deeply that the protesters found it necessary to invade our small residential neighborhood in order to rail against the First Amendment and demonstrate against a book. We would have thought it more appropriate to read the book and then engage in a civil debate over its contents, rather than try to ban the book through demonstrations or book burnings. It is our experience that protest and book burnings occur not against books that are false, but against books that are true".

"We offer to provide a free copy of the book to any of the demonstrators who will sincerely promise to read it, as opposed to burn it. We will also provide free copies of John Kerry's 1971 book, The New Soldier, if and when he agrees to allow it to be reprinted".

Out of respect for the O'Neill family I said nothing to the protesters who were in front of his house. The woman holding the can between her legs was standing on a busy street corner a few blocks away and she was trying to get cars to drive down to the house where the protesters were standing.

As we waited for the light to change I told her that her boy was going down. She then told me that she would pray for me. What a sanctimonious b*tch. She is trying to disturb an innocent young woman's wedding day & she belongs to a party that believes in abortion on demand and SHE is going to Pray for ME?????

I was enraged and she knew it. That is why I didn't say anything to the protesters because I know I have a short fuse. LOL

John O'Neill is no conservative and no Republican.

I'd be curious to see if he stays a Democrat after the rabid left descending on him for daring to engage in political speech :-)

You know, if some of these jerkwads showed up near my house or business, I think I'd deploy a weapon sure to drive them crazy: I'd haul out some of my Paul Shanklin CDs (you know, the parody songs that El-Rushbo uses), set up some outward-facing speakers, and let it rip.

Can you imagine the lefties hanging around to listen to that? And how demoralizing it would be for the lefties when people start to gather and laugh at the parody songs?

Bay Area Democrats, I think? With the bay being in Texas?

Bay Area Blvd. in Clear Lake, an area of Houston. Also known for NASA.

Ah, the beauty of free speech. Too bad for them, they wouldn't have been allowed that in Boston when their candidate "reported for duty."
