Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Searching." The ad contrasts John Kerry's numerous different positions on the War on Terror and asks how he can protect us when he does not even know where he stands. You can view and link to the ad at:

http://www.georgewbush.com/videoandaudio/

A screenshot and transcript are below:

President Bush:

I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.

John Kerry:

"It was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision I supported him."

"I don't believe the President took us to war as he should have."

"The winning of the war was brilliant."

"It's the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time."

"I have always said we may yet even find weapons of mass destruction."

"I actually did vote for the 87 billion dollars before I voted against it."

Graphic:

How can John Kerry protect us…

…when he doesn't even know where he stands?

If Kerry's only criticism of "Windsurfer" was that it was too lighthearted, then he's not going to be able to respond to this ad. This one is very similar, except: it's entirely about the Iraq war, it's dark, it's somber, and it has the exorcist theme playing in the background. Okay, not really, but it has sad, somber music. Nothing lighthearted there.

Using Kerry's own voice & words: Perfect.

They need the rock and roll song about 'Searching' as background music to the ad... I can't remember the group from the 50s-60s.......

Brilliant. Expect this same strategy in the first debate.

I love it that Cheney's stiletto sinks Kerry w/his own words! Kerry has no defense on this one other than to whine that Republican's are so meannnnnnnnnnnnnnn. LOL

Now THAT is a hard hitting ad. I know there is too much to fit in 30 seconds, but some of kerry calling Saddam a terrorist in 1997 and his charges of Iraq being a diversion would be nice.

Great ad.

The Bush campaign has gone to an all new low. They must be desperate. Imagine, using the opponents own words taken verbatim from his own mouth. You folks might think this kind of unfair mud slinging is okay but I for one will not participate. Bush has again lost my vote.

I thought there were much better clips/quotes to use on

www.kerryoniraq.com

But maybe they were too long to compress into a campaign TV ad. Go Bush-Cheney '04!!

I think they should run an ad telling people to visit that site.

Excellent! I'm sure the Dems will call this a negative ad, but America will see through that.

Again..good ad. However, watching it again, questioning his 'leadership' abilities might be good idea as well. That is huge kerry weak point.
