THE DRAFT RUMOR WON'T DIE...

This is not a real draft card, but real cards may be in the mail soon if the current situation doesn't improve.
As it is, our military is stretched almost to the breaking point trying to maintain troop levels in Iraq and around the world. If civil war erupts in Iraq, or if Pakistan, North Korea or other nations begin to pose new military threats, how would we meet the demand for troops?
Did you know that
* It would only take two to three days for Congress and the President to authorize a draft and set the Selective Service System's plans in motion?
* Twenty-year-olds would be the first to be inducted?
* Women are very likely to be included in the next draft? It's up to us to educate ourselves. In the event of a draft, we won't have much time to form an opinion. And with just 34 days left until the election and only a few days left before many state registration deadlines, we need to take a stand now by registering to vote:

Do you have any idea how much respect Kerry would earn if he said something about this? Something like, "Folks, we're not going to have a draft. The all-volunteer military works a heck of a lot better than what we had before."

Forward this to all you know and if they want, they can look it up. See what do all the people who are proposing we bring back the draft have in common and ask yourself, these guys want to bring back the draft, who are they voting for?
S.89 Title: A bill to provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes. I recommend Bold spacing the word democrat so people know.
"If you want to vote against the party which has sponsored both the bills about the draft, you will have to vote Republican. That's right, the bills were sponsored and introduced by Democrats.
HR 163 - was introduced by New York Democrat Rep. Charles Rangel on Jan. 7, 2003
Senate bill is S. 89, was introduced by Democrat Ernest Hollings of South Carolina, also on Jan. 7, 2003."
