Kerry would give Nukes to Iran

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I promised a sound bite or two. Yes, two on this Iraq business. Actually, Iran and nuclear material. Here is what Kerry says about Iran and giving them nuclear material.

JOHN KERRY: With respect to Iran, the British, French and Germans were the ones who initiated an effort, without the United States regrettably, to begin to try to move to deter the nuclear possibilities in Iran. I believe we could have done better. I think the United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel, test them, see whether or not they were actually looking for it for peaceful purposes. If they weren't willing to work a deal, then we could have put sanctions together. The President did nothing.

RUSH: Now, here's the thing about this. There have been sanctions on Iran since Jimmy Carter. We have had sanctions on and off in Iran to what effect? To what impact? Number two, we were not out of this diplomatic effort to approach Iran. The British, French and Germans did not initiate this. We did. We have an ongoing diplomatic effort with Iran, even now. The President said this last night, by the way. I don't know if you remember it. But he did. Now, he says, "I believe we could have done better. The United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel, test the Iranians, see whether or not they're actually looking for it for peaceful purposes. If they weren't willing to work a deal, then we put sanctions together The President did nothing." Okay. So I guess the plan is we go to the Iranians and say, "You know what? We want to test whether or not you are doing this nuclear business for peaceful reasons." The Iranians say that they're doing it to produce power. Of course, the world doubts them because they've got so much oil they don't need this for power, but they are a terrorist nation and we all know terrorists are looking for nukes. So Kerry wants to offer a test: give them the fuel and see what they do with it and make a deal. This is the same hare-brained thinking, and it's been demonstrated throughout world history. This is a Neville Chamberlain kind of deal. Make a deal with the terrorists? Make a deal with the Iranians? This is nothing more than a rehash of the Clinton policy in North Korea, and look where it's led us. Now, I want to say one thing about this North Korean business because this was also stated by Kerry last night, and while true it is out of context. Yes, it is true the North Koreans have finally put together a nuclear weapons program during the last four years, during the Bush administration. There's no denying that. Their nuclear weapons program came on line within the boundaries of the Bush administration. The president did not deal with this last night. I don't know why, again, but he didn't. The fact of the matter is, you don't put together nuclear weapons overnight or in four years.

Had it not been for the Clinton administration offering this same kind of deal Kerry wants to give the Iranians to the North Koreans, offering them a deal, make a deal with them. We'll give you the nuclear fuel, the power to power your plants and so forth. You make a deal with us that you won't use it for weapons. The North Koreans signed that deal. They're communists! They lie. Madeleine Albright two weeks ago said, "We got tricked." Meaning they broke the deal. They broke the deal back during the '90s, during the Clinton administration. When we gave them the fuel, the nuclear fuel in the '90s for their nuclear power plan.

That's when they began to convert it to weapons-grade plutonium, uranium, what have you, and started working on their nuclear weapons program. They've been working on it since the mid-'90s. Their weapons did come on line in the last four years, but they would not have had the ability to do this, had there not been a policy from the Clinton administration that's exactly like what Kerry is proposing we do with Iran. It's difficult for me to fathom. We hear that this guy is so smart and so brilliant. Here's somebody just willing to ignore the full scope and identity of our enemies and history all in one fell swoop.

Yes it's absurd, but Kerry did not "misspeak", this really is part of Kerry's foreign policy platform. I've heard his campaign say tout this as a "solution" for Iran previously.

I saw the post and was stunned to see it pulled. A commercial should be made of this idiotic kerry outburst.

He's a wimp who makes Clinton and Carter look like brilliant, yet tough, leaders.

To quote sKerry, "...Nuclear proliferation is the most imminent threat to our national security." And he wants to hand over nuclear materials to a terrorist sponsoring state. God save us if he is elected President.

you would think that a presidential candidate offering to give nuclear material to a islamist state would be deemed worthy of a thread of it's own. but what the hell do i know?

What's the matter with nukes for Iran? I would give them plenty. I'd carpet Iran with nukes.

Oh, no wait, I see what you mean . . .

If you're going to accuse one of the moderators of FR of being a Kerry supporter, the least you could do is *ping* them to your accusation so they can either defend themselves, or explain the reasons your thread was pulled, don't you think?

Additionally our jewish brothers should know, kerry sees iran as the counter-balance to Israel, whom he will also sell out.

Of everything Senator Kerry said, this was the most mind boggling and insane thing he could have said. The definition of insanity is repeating the same action over and over expecting different results. So, the result of giving nuclear material to NK resulted in NK achieving nuclear weapons. However, we are to expect a different result if we do the same in regards to Iran?

Oh well, never mind, as TeRAYza Kerry says. If she gets to be first lady (perish the thought) we won't have to worry about stuff like that. She would start WWIII with her big mouth within their first month in office.

I couldn't believe he said that either. A comparison of N. Korea strategy and result with Kerry's Iran result is just low hanging fruit.

I've been meaning to ask this for a while... In the past, when I check out what's going on in DU, they seem to have a SERIOUS hardon to destroy Israel... Can Somebody explain where this comes from?
