Anybody else envision a scenario, where Bush loses national popular vote again, and wins the EC tally? I do.

And if it happens, expect riots in the streets. We can't afford another repeat of 2000. It is extremely important that Bush win the popular vote as well.

I think he will...

Don't forget that in states like NJ and even NY Kerry's margin is smaller than Gore's was...

Maybe if Bush wins the electoral vote but loses the popular vote California and the East Coast will be so angry they'll secede and leave us in peace

If these idiots riot in the street, they should be arrested or shot. If they protest against the electorial college, or the results from a clean election, they are positioning themselves as enemies of the Constitution. Our form of government is a republic, not a direct democracy. Most of the people who don't understand this are victims of history and government teachers who focused on how mean our founding forefathers were instead of informing them about the tenants of a REPRESENTATIVE democracy.

A great deal of the thought behind our constitution was in avoiding the problem of MOB rule. Just because most people want it, doesen't mean its right or ok. The Senate is a perfect example of this as well as the Bill of Rights. We do not live by mob rules for good reason.
