He is being sarcastic. He is saying that that kerry is the man for those who want to live off the government and not try on their own. Everything kerry says goes back to "I will take care of you. I have a plan so you don't have to do squat" It's all BS.

Sounds like Mr. Boortz is an abortion fan.

He also thinks there's nothing wrong with being a homosexual...they were "born that way" afterall.

I've been a listener for years. He does have his opinions where he doesn't waver at all, and you learn what these are (such as the above). But you have to take a lot of what he says with a huge grain of salt. He even warns his listener to do that. However, he lost me in 2000 when he said we should just let the dems have this one. Yes, he actually said that.

I've recently started listening again. So far, I've heard what idiots we are in Georgia because we want a chance to vote for marriage protection. I also gather he wants Pres. Bush re-elected due to the war on terror. It's good to have Neil's voice this go-around, but I'm sure he'd be supporting the Libertarian candidate otherwise.

The very idea that they are responsible for solving their own difficulty, and that government's job is to get out of the way so that they can do so, is anathema to the majority of voters. John Kerry appealed to these people last night. That makes him the winner.

You guys missed this. He is saying Kerry won if you are a proponent of Government being the Solution (the anti-Reagan).

Context is everything.

In the USA, only juries have the ability to decide murder.
-- Feel free to take your argument to a county/state prosecutor, get an indictment, & hold a trial for murder.
That's the American way, and I have no problems with it.

You think early term abortion is murder, spur?

Let's not forget that Boortz is a huge Libertarian. He was Libertarian all the way last election!

So what? I'm a libertarian too, but Bush will get my vote this year anyway. And I think Neal plans to do the same thing.

You guys missed this.

I disagree.

Basically Mr. Boortz's thesis is that the undecideds both debaters are trying to reach are more likely to be attracted to Senator Kerry's big government nostrums.

In other words, they aren't too bright and are easily swayed by vague promises of handouts.

In his illustrative example he compares a hypothetical Catholic advocate of life to socialist advocate Senator Kerry.

He compares the hypothetical Catholic crowd to the allegedly stupid socialist crowd of undecideds.

He compares the advocacy of life to the advocacy of socialism.

It is clear that Mr. Boortz equates life advocacy with socialism and that he disapproves of both.

Eventually, people tire of politicians who promise them the moon. Then, they get cynical and don't vote. I live in a community of 400 retired seniors--all cradle democrats. As far as I know four of us vote.

Kerry's appeal to those who want a nanny state that Boortz focuses. He is saying that most of the people in this country want the government to do everything for them, and Kerry promised that. Thus Boortz is saying that there are fewer people who don't want to be serfs of the government than those who prefer the safety of slavery than to the chanes of freedom.

In other words, Kerry appeals to those who have a God-vacuum in their lives. They need a flesh & blood god who will provide for them and protect them, which will give them a helping hand. So Kerry appeals to those who would usurp nanny-god for the true God.

It's more fundamental than that. The current situation is like that in 1980 (massive dissatisfaction with the status quo). All the challenger needs to do under those conditions is show up and convince the voters that he isn't a total lunatic or nitwit.

Boortz is right. Even if Bush wins, he will win narrowly...what happened to America that class warfare and government-based solutions are still the favorite of a majority or near majority of American citizens

...wake up, conservatives! Clinton was elected twice, Gore received a popular majority, and Kerry might win...what does that tell you?

I think it will TAKE A LOT MORE than that to defeat Bush. If you take into NAder being teh spoiler, teh last time a democrat won was when Jimmy Carter beat a lame Gerald Ford.

only juries have the ability to decide murder.

Tell it to those who can no longer speak for themselves.

Tell it to women, accused of 'murdering' their own fertilized eggs.

their own fertilized eggs.

That's your problem. You see no human life here. I do.

BTW...it's not only the woman's (baby)...it takes two to tango. ;^)

Boortz is libertarian. Of course he's pro-abortion.

That is an extremely unfair statement. I am a very pro-life small-l libertarian Republican. As a libertarian I find Roe v. Wade to be repugnant to the Constitution. Ron Paul is also a noted small-l libertarian who makes eloquent arguments for the pro-life cause.
