I don't know. Send greetings to the Indonesians, they're really Javanese at heart. Not Wahabbis.

The Jakartans party like crazy after sunset on the weekends. I've never seen anything like it, a few select clubs (owned by the Indo military and Jakartans with longstanding political and business connections) stay open until 5:30AM and they are packed. Jamaah Islamia hates them with a passion, but can't do anything about it, because they'll be killed if they mess with the wrong people.

So I say Happy Ramadan to my Indonesian friends, and enjoy a pack of Dunhill International cigs on me at sunset!

when i refer to the enemy i of course am refering to those who are the enemy, radical islam..Which unfortunatly seems to be the majority.of course the best man at your wedding or any muslim living here as an american and not cheering the destruction 9/11 is as good as anyone else, but i am not about to wish happy ramadan (which usually means we can't attack them but they can do what they want to us or western allies,do you know the Yom Kippur war was called the Ramadan war??since it was launched by them on ramadan?)))

He should've delivered the message in the form of a few MOABs dropped on Fallujah.

Is GWB the first Prez to deliver Ramadan greetings?

That's incredibly bigoted.

You would consider a Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, presently fighting for us in Afghanistan, to be an enemy because he's Muslim? That's sad.

from another website (pay,so i quote snippets)
Several events of great importance to the Muslim faith have occurred during the holy month. It is widely believed that God revealed the Koran during Ramadan.

Additionally, the Battle of Badr was fought in the year 624 on the 17th day of Ramadan. The battle marked the first time a Muslim army faced a non-Muslim force and, though outnumbered and outgunned, the Muslims were victorious. The battle is seen as a decisive turning point in the history of Islam.
......
Because of those who believe engaging in acts of terrorism is a means to demonstrate their Muslim faith, many in the West have been forced to take an apprehensive view of the onset of Ramadan.

Damn it george--maybe you would have more votes if you said what i really think you feel-

When is the GOP going to realize that pandering never works. NEVER. Not once, ever. This "greeting" won't gain the Prez one extra vote, just as his pandering to illegal Mexicans won't do him any good. If anything it'll have the opposite effect.

"The best man at my wedding is a Muslim. He's currently leading a CH-53 squadron in Afghanistan.

I hardly consider him an enemy."

You would be in the minority. It would be ignorant to deny that there is such a thing as a good muslim. But, given the lack of condemnation of terrorism in the muslim community, and the constant stream of hatred, I must consider all muslims the enemy until proven otherwise.
Because he's in the military doesn't mean he doesn't want to see infidels dead. Remember in the early days of the Iraq war when that muslim sgt tossed a grenade into his own troops tent?
Any group that would condone strapping a bomb to a child in order to kill just 1 of the enemy... beyond my comprehension, and worthy of ill will.

Muslims are responsible for the vast majority of terror attacks in this world and as far as I can tell ALL the beheadings.

You may not consider those that are worshipers of the death cult enemies but many do.

I understand everyone's feelings here on this thread.

I can tell you that Doug is one of the good guys. He was appalled and angry at 9/11, as was his muslin wife. A more gentle couple you will not find.

Forgive me if I'm a bit defensive on their behalf when I hear all muslims painted at the enemy.

It's bigoted to not trust a group of people who want to kill you because you don't believe in their religion?
Read the Koran and you'll see they despise you, too.

I'd like to send my greetings also but I'm sure they're not politically correct.

ok no problem--i think when we vent at muslims ,we are venting at the arab street, palestinians, terrorists, leaders of saudi arabia etc not someone who lives a peacefull life in indonesia fishing and praying or an american,no an AMERICAN, who happens to be muslim but fighting for the country

I judge people on their individual merits, not by what group they belong to.

The good news is that probably 1% of the Islamic world hate
us enough to kill us.

The bad news is that 1% is 15 million muslims. We need to kill that 15 million. God can sort em out.
