>>> Who give a damn about Alan Keyes comments?

I don't, personally. But a lib I work with did point out to me that the Cheney's moral outrage seems contrived when Kerry called her a "child of God," after they had no harsh words for a guy who called her a "selfish hedonist." You can bet the MSM will pick up this angle the longer this story keeps kicking.

I do think the Cheneys are angry over Kerry's use of their daughter as a political tool, and rightly so. But they have to be careful not to look like they are using her as a tool themselves.

This is a great point. The Republicans need to let it go, let the chips fall where they may....get on to other issues.. The Dems have made themselves looks horrible, all the Cheney's have spoken out, it's time to let the Dems continue messing with their self inflicted wounds.

Keyes said a generic lesbians is, by nature, a "selfish hedonist" and then agreed when asked if that included Mary Cheney, a lesbian, Keyes said by definition (as a lesbian) she would be included as a lesbian. He didn't drag her name up. Edwards did. Kerry did. And in the Keyes case, the MEDIA specifically brought her up in the interview after he made a general philosophical statement about lesbians. He was consistent, he made a *general* remark. The MSM, aka Media wing of the Democrat Party, SPUN it as an attack on Mary Cheney.
