Have you ever wondered why hardcore Liberals are so sure that their perspective is the only one?

While reading through my daily dose of Liberal pap tonight, I spent a few minutes following a thread entitled, "I propose only positive Kerry news be posted from now on".

Here's the lead off post:

I don't understand why some people here seem so eager to post any news item or poll that depicts the Kerry campaign or its standing in a negative light. They may think they are being informative, but all they are really doing is denigrating the morale of people here at DU. We don't need that. I wish to suggest that from now until November 2nd, only positive Kerry be spoken here. That is, no posts about bad polls, only posts about good polls; no posts about Kerry gaffes or embarassments; only posts about Bush gaffes and embarassments; no posts about Bush endorsements, only posts about Kerry endorsements. I sometimes wonder about the motives of some of these posters who seem to rush to the boards to post the latest bad news for the Kerry campaign. We don't need it.

Wow. Here on Free Repub there is a healthy dose of good and bad. It might sometimes be hard to take some of the bad but given this election is so close I think some bad news makes a good motivator.

Are these guys giving up or what? Where was this posted?

This is reminiscent of ABC's Mark Halperin's directive: give Bush hell, give Kerry a free ride.

That post originally came from a democratic site that is "underground" that FreeRepublic doesn't like direct links to ;-)

Ok I went there and looked around (I normally don't troll or even go there). There are a number of people who agree with the original post and some who are saying "screw it we wanna live in reality". Good to see that some miguided people are still American.

Anyone remember towards the end of 2002 that DU had a "don't post anything negative about any Democrat" rule before the election?

Those people willingly immerse themselves in a fantasy world, and they get crushed when reality hits them (like the 2002 elections).

What was he reading? I assume the CBS/NBC/ABC/CNN employees posting board?

Mark Halperin's directive: give Bush hell, give Kerry a free ride.

Another way to say it "No good news for Bush, no bad news for Kerry"

I predicted that this would happen after the third debate, so I'm not surprised. I saw a very similar thread about 2 weeks before the California recall election. They more or less did just that, no bad news.

I think it's a very good idea, it will make the day after so much more fun.

BTW Anyone else having trouble logging on over there tonight? I can't, and it's very frustrating, they need my encouragement.

I am saving this one for rebuttal when anyone is accused of insufficient purity of motive.

God spare us from becoming these people.

Ronald Reagan - as one might well expect - said it best:

"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

Giddyup!!!!!! I can't wait to read about the DU'ers going into ritualistic suicide mode! I feel their screams of pain even now as the news on 3 Nov 04 soon reads "Bush for 4 MORE YEARS!" It makes me happy to just day (night?) dream about it.

Can I get a Deaniac "AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!" anyone?
