I am reminded of our own urban dwellers that flee to the country – and insist that new malls, shopping centers, and every other convenience (and ill) of the city follow them.

We have new neighbors out in the country. We were talking about an old one-room school house that we could both see and wondering what was to become of it. I said they were planning on making it a 7-11, she said that would be great! I was joking, she wasn't.

That’s like an area we have here – Gloucester County, Virginia.
A new four lane bridge was built to replace the old two lane. People moved out in droves because of the quiet rural atmosphere. They fled the city to escape crime and high taxes. Now Gloucester has crime, higher taxes, traffic jams, urban sprawl …
