Per Bob Shieffer at the last Presidential debate, some 8,000 illegal aliens per week are crossing the border. That equates to more like 4.16 million new illegals per year.

8000 times 52 = 416,000. Missed by a factor of ten. :) Not that it really matters, 416,000 per year is still 416,000 too many.

Nail the traitors who employ them with confiscation of all of their assets and a long prison term. Remove the incentive to come and the illegal entrant will stay home.

Save this for after the election...if Bush loses, there will be no United States to save. Vote Bush!

I had heard 3,000 per day were coming across.

Kerry (IIRC) said 4,000. Sheiffer said his figure was 8,000.

[I may have mistyped: 8,000 sounded to high for a daily number. 8,000 per week would only be 1,143 per day and the number is much higher than that. 3,000 per day would be 1 million per year. 8,000 per day would be 2.9 million per year. Take your pick because no one knows---and the powers that be don't want anyone to know. There used to be a regular FR poster who actually worked for the INS and he would post monthly figures. They were frightening large because he said they were intentionally underestimated by a factor of 4.]

Getting sidetracked in the numbers doesn't solve the problem--which is, the powers that be are doing nothing to quell the flow, but they are doing plenty to encourage its continuance.
