I wonder if the umpires are wearing a wire and are getting information from the booth to help them make their decisions. I'm serious. They overturned two calls in tonight's game which is unprecedented. Usually they stick with their calls, good or bad. Somebody must be feeding them information from the booth based on instant-replay.

I agree with you.

I don't think ANY of the umps clearly saw that HR; Nor do I think any of them clearly saw the last play with A-Rod.

The kid Jeffrey Myers who interfered with Jeter's "homer" back in the '96 playoff against Baltimore would have been sussed out today by the "call from the booth."

The umps are not getting anything from the booth. The closest ump calls the play in his sphere of influence. Sometimes his vision is blocked or he has a bad angle. He asks the others for help.

Up at AAA Rochester this year, I saw more calls be deliberated by the entire umpire crew get discussed, and in some cases overturned than I've ever seem before. Might be some sort of directive from the powers-that-be to discuss a questionable before making it final.
