"A Detroit News poll conducted October 20-21 has President Bush leading Kerry by a narrow margin of 47 percent to 43 percent"
Mitchell Group out of Lansing has as of today:
Bush 46%
Kerry 43%
Other 2%
Nader 1%
Undecided 8%
Bush needs 48.5% to win Michigan.
Remember Spence Abraham had 49% and lost
I asked one of my liberal friends who lives outside of Detroit what he thought of the Detroit News. This is his reply:
"The News is a quintessential right-wing echo-chamber blather-spewing fishwrapper from way back, although the sports page is fine. The Saturday before Engler-Blanchard gov off-year election in early 90's (a date which will live in infamy), it had a blaring headline that Blanchard had a 20 point lead so it was in the bag. This undoubtedly contributed to a very low Detroit turnout and the nightmare that ensued. Accordingly, I tend to take their poll results with a grain of salt."
Take it for what it's worth. My friend is very far left but he is intelligent.
