Powerlineblog.org: We Just Got A Tip (Breaking Story on Kerry?)
Powerline ^ | 10/23/04

We just got a tip......that a major newspaper will break a front-page story Monday morning that could create a serious problem for the Kerry campaign. We don't yet have any details, but it relates to a foreign policy issue, and it will call into question--amazingly enough--John Kerry's truthfulness.

We'll watch for the story Sunday night and post it as soon as it becomes available.

Well, that is interesting. I am familiar with the KLA being on the terrorist list. And, I remember that in 2003 one of the Demo candidates received a donation from a terrorist group, but as I recall they returned it. I can't remember if it was KLA and Kerry.

It just frosts me that the MSM never picks up the KLA angle and has never researched the Tide Foundation and whether the money HeinzKerry have donated has been funding terrorist front organizations. Or whether terrorist front organizations are funding a presidential campaign. Again, think of George Soros who funded a revolution in the Ukraine. One would think that would be more pertinent than George Bush's physical in 1973.

Think about this scenario for a second. One week before the presidential elections, Senator Kerry and his foreign advisor's have persuaded Assad of Syria to give up all 'HIS' wmds.(who is to know they are only Saddam's)

Senator Kerry has used diplomacy to convince Syria that Israel will not attack them. (Hence, Syria's offer of peace to the Israeli's a few weeks ago).

This would prove to the American people that war should be a last option.(Kerry's sensitive war is better). Vote for Kerry if you do not want Americans dying in other wars.

Anyone care to guess which major newspaper would run such a story?

NY POST, NY SUN, WASH TIMES, PITT TRIB-REV, BOSTON HERALD, Chicago SUN-TIMES, Orange County Register, WALL STREET JOURNAL...

My big guess.... something truly unbexpected..... WASH POST

You are right. Bush never says a word in defense or rebuttal. If OBL is not dead, then maybe he is incarcerated somewhere and Kerry knows it, too. But, if the story is that OBL had been dead or captured---it would be a HUUUUUGGGGE story and any Kerry dishonesty would be irrelevant.

I agree... the WaPo has consistently leaned toward Bush on the war in their editorials... while making it clear they don't like how he has handled it... they have said they don't think Kerry has the committment to do it.

This is their chance to "prove" they are not biased, while effecting their support for Bush without having to endorse him.

I disagree with you on that,

a lot of men are put off by strong women, something to do with that weird chromosome you fellows carry.

Anyhow, she would need him to handle those types of men. And don't forget Muslim men think women are chattel.

Kerry's advisor wants to reward Syria at Israel's expense, by David Meir-Levi

Some weeks ago I circulated material that was critical of Martin Indyk ( once leader at AIPAC, a former ambassador to Israel, and currently the Director of the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution) vis-à-vis his attitude and efforts regarding Israel. Some of my respondents were outraged, since Indyk is perceived to be a very pro-Israel US diplomat.

Some "insiders" affirm the characterization of Indyk as a staunch supporter of Israel in an American diplomatic venue that is usually hostile to Israel (Dennis Ross thinks he is great). Others, however, support the assertion that he is one of Israel's bona fide enemies.

I have no way of knowing for sure; but I offer below the most recent analysis of Indyk's stand on Syria. If this analysis is correct, Indyk is indeed an enemy not only of Israel (cf. a-c below), but also of the US's fight against worldwide terrorism (cf. d below).

For a US high-ranking and high profile diplomat to state categorically that the Golan Heights belong to Syria is a gross breach of diplomatic trust and may, in fact, endanger peace negotiations.

PUEBLO, Colo. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee and Vietnam War veteran John Kerry (news - web sites) tried to burnish his national security credentials on Saturday by vowing to hunt down terrorists with the same energy he used to pursue the Viet Cong.

"Speaking as someone who was raised by hard-line Dems - the party is not what it used to be. Just ask Zell Miller

I hear you.....did door to door for McGovern in my youth.....

in the old days, both the demos and the Pubs were patriotic, American loving people....

I honestly don't believe the Demonrat party loves America anymore....

so, it boils down to patriotism....

Well, considering the Chicago Sun-Times just endorsed John Kerry for President, I think you can cross them off your list.

NY SUN or WASH TIMES

MSM ignores

Yeah, my thoughts too. Isn't the Washington Times owned by the Moonies? Oh well, it's a start. Lets just hope and pray if it's a really good (bad) story that it gets traction with some of the MSM. If it does it will be hard for the rest of them to ignore it.
