Speaking of Dishonorable Discharges, or like is over wishing. A DD could only be issued by a Court Marshal (SP)
But a "bad paper" discharge would have cut off any VA benefit, like Schooling or home purchases using VA as a guarantee. While the boy has a fancy lineage, it was the "poor" side of the family. He was always the "poor child with his face pressed against the window". Couple that with a hugh ego, and the Gin Soaked One looks real good.
