Glad you're doing better.

Friend of mine went in for a hernia, came out with "Alzheimers Disease," just like that, in the blink of one day's surgery, because no doctor wanted to admit their collective screw-up in the operating room (anesthesia MUST be tested with each patient, in order to see what works for whom).

Alzheimers does not happen overnight, but that's what his doctors claim.

It's an especially sad tale, because of my friend, and his wife, and their incredible lives.

He and his wife to be, who in 1939, did not know each other, were young kids in Poland. They were forced into labor by the NAZI's. He was 15, and she was 13.

He ended up in Germany, making wood parts and pieces for the German war machine, but I do not know what she did.

Five and a half years, forced labor.

After the war, both were sponsored by people from Michigan, looking to help war refugees; the two had still not met each other.

He was given a job working on cabinetry, and I think she ended up at the same plant. Eventually, they married, and he became a new home builder.

He built beautiful, custom made homes; incredible workmanship from his crews, the fit and finish of the wood is astonishing. Everything, heavy duty and durable. Double roofs, for insulation; custom beams, for the snow loading. 100% everywhere, all the time.

Doing his best, doing their best, and then tragedy strikes, because of arrogant doctors who think that everybody reacts the same to anesthesia.

You can give the same dose of the same stuff to 100 people and get memory troubles with some, and in a few cases, real trouble.

Many patients suffer, but this could be avoided, mostly, by the drug companies coming up with anesthesia tolerance tests that each patient takes BEFORE surgery.

The chemical "mood" of the patient, that is, how stressed they are, in the days before surgery, affects their reaction to the drugs. Getting "stressed out" can, when mixed with some anesthesia, cause memory failures, from what I've seen.

A lot of the trouble began some time after 1990, when a "new generation" of anesthesia hit the market; "new and improved," it was to actually help alleviate the "after effects," those being "drowsiness and fatigue."

Unfortunately, the "new stuff" introduced memory problems instead. So, you're alert but can't quite remember which key on the key ring, opens the front door of your house.

Long term memory seems to be the least affected.

Short term is the most affected. Repeating tasks, over the years, gradually "sinks in."

Brain damage is no fun, but largely made fun of, by people, up until it happens to them, and then few want to hear about it.

I think she actually did bump Socks off. When Chelsea went to college, Hillary had Socks euthanized. Goes to show you are right.

Gonnoreah (sp?) more likely. I also have it on good information that the man's had herpes for at least the past dozen years.

I wish I was one of those whose memory problems were temporary but after six years of waiting I have reconciled myself to being a permanent "pumphead".
As much as I yelled and scramed at the screen whenever Bill Clinton was on TV I never would wish these complications of bypass surgery on anyone....and yes I too had an infection that took months to clear up and today must take a multitude of pills to maintain some sort of semblence of being "normal".

Socks was given to Betty Currie, Clinton's secretary.

Doctors have given him blood thinners to prevent blood clots

Cumadin. Rat poison. It kills just as surely as heart disease. Unfortunately, a stroke is probably not far behind.

"... he may have suffered permanent brain damage due to the surgery..."

Which brain? The big one or the little one that actually leads him around?

After John Edwards sues, there will be no more quadruple heart bypass surgeries performed in the United States, and then the Democrats can rant about the lack of health care.

The last thing we need is the grieving witch with a week of free TV face time. I want him to hang around for about 20 more years...

According to items I've read some people who go through bypass surgery suffer loss of brain function.

This article uses the National Enquirer as it's source.
You think the NYT is any better?

Actually, the National Enquirer has a significantly better track record than the NYT. The NE broke the Gennifer Flowers story when nobody else would touch it, they broke the Gary Hart story, and they were right on the Limbaugh story. I personally trust the National Enquirer over ANY of the MSM -- the NE has no agenda other than to break shocking stories that will sell a lot of papers. It beats being a mouthpiece for the DNC.

This article uses the National Enquirer as it's source.

And you would think the liberal MSM would be more reliable?

The sycophant NYC councilman who was calling Hillary "Foxy Lady" is rejoicing and the prospect of Slick's demise.

If they suspect foul play --- someone tampering with his IVs or something like that --- Bill did mention in some interview seeing Hillary show up and then fly away.

I don't believe this story, but if it's true? "Hey! Better put some ice on it."

It was quite frustrating trying to remember things that just did not want to return,

But remember Bill Clinton's Monica testimony --- he had memory problems back then "I don't recall, I don't remember, I honestly can't remember, I don't know, I can't remember......" He didn't remember much about his crimes in Whitewater either. No one deserves memory loss like Bill Clinton.
