After getting folks all across the country on Free Republic and blogland excited and raring to go to D.C. for some reason or another having to do with John Kerry, Navy Chief has announced a NO GO.

------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have been asked by the highest authorities (No -- I will not expound) to not hold this Rally.
Although our actions and intent has been nothing but honorable, this effort will not serve our purposes.
My sincerest apologies for this but I must ask that we stand down...
I certainly hope the "highest authorities" know what they are doing and I don't like this anymore than anyone else but I must ask you to stand down.
We can however, return to our previous effort in getting the truth to media outlets, Congress, and other influencial organizations.
This was a great idea and I'm very disappointed -- I hope you will forgive me for this. I'm assured that all will be clear in time (yeah right).

Yes he did. He's got an obligation to answer questions here.
It's also a great site for people with an agenda.
I just don't understand your suspicions about this.
My suspicions about this YESTERDAY turned out to be true TODAY.
"Listen, you seem to be implying that I am trying to harm the Vietnam Vets; I am not and you know that.
Maybe the rest of us should just shut up and see how this guy turns out since you all are so positive that this guy is on the up and up; I sure as hell hope he doesn't do more harm than good.
But as Bob J said up the thread, why didn't this guy go to John O'Neill?"
What I said was signup at Swift Boat forum and talk to NavyChief yourself.
AND if you heard John O'Neil on the radio this past week he mentioned that Kerry did not get an honorable discharge.
A secret pardon? Is such a thing possible?
I didn't hear John O'Neill say anything about a rally.
Kerry is a travesty! Where he gets the "...." to suggest he is representative of our honorable military is beyond me! I became political because I was so outraged at the nerve of Clinton! My dad had recently died and was honored with a flag upon his coffin, and the idea that Clinton would ever get that same honor fried me! I never dreamed anyone could make me more angry then Clinton. Boy! Was I ever wrong! Kerry takes the top award for that!! The gall of that man!
Since he did, and the word was wrong, why shouldn't he come back and answer questions?
Yes. NavyChief and the Real Navy Chief are one and the same.
Could it be possible that this Secretary of the Navy decided that the he didn't need to come forward as the polls were trending W lately? I remember something being said he would only come forward if it was needed, whatever that point would be.
And maybe this release of information would come from sources that would blur the lines between BC04 and the Swiftees. Just my two cents.
You might consider addressing what I posted and refuting that.
Could somebody cite one piece of the puzzle that Navy Chief has contributed to the Kerry story that has been documented and proved out?
This isn't a taunt. I'm even going back to the claim that Kerry wrote the after action report for his Bronze Star from the Coast Guard ship. This was a Navy Chief claim that Tom Lipscomb wrote up in the NY SUN. And yet it was just presented as an assertion. I never saw any documentation or any other substantiation either here or at the Bandit's hideaway or anywhere that story was discussed.
Mind you, it would have been a killer point--and I want to believe it is true--provably true. But I never saw anything that would prove it. And I think that has been a pattern with Navy Chief's assertions.
He is a she. And she is not privy to enough information to be making some of the statements that were made, imo.
This of course is an opinion piece. The 2001 resolution date is key.
I suspect the people where the info originated from. It has nothing to do with the Swifties, imo.
I'll take that as a non-responsive answer.
Good idea. This is giving me indigestion. :(
I do see your point. What a mess. I think... I don't know what to think....
