In Europe the stereotype is the reverse. Poles are seen as being intellectual. At least that's what my Polish dad told me. Any Euro-Poles out there?

Many of those "Polish jokes" were based on the false notion that Poland was a "backward" country. Over time, we have seen that Poland is not so much "backward" as it is hesitent to change its ways for no good reason. In other words, Poles are conservative by nature.

How foolish some of the more "progressive" nations of Europe seem in comparison. The spirit of King Sobieski lives on - and that's no joke.
