A single Kerry guy outside, sheepishly trying to give me a flyer, I said, "Sorry to disappoint you" and walked by. My wife elbowed me and said I was rude. I denied that, saying I could have been much worse.

LOL! That reminded me of when a young DNC guy nicely asked if I would help get Kerry elected and I screamed, "NO WAY!!!" at him. Clearly, I was very rude and I'm normally very calm and a nice to everyone. I just couldn't control myself.

In Rochester (Greece NY) we voted at 9:00 AM and there were only 50 people who voted ahead of us. We were the only voters there. Two more votes for W.

It took a Californian to start a New York thread???

Thanks Doug :)

Voted around 9:30 & was #212, great turnout on our little Island.

Customer came in & said he got a card from Planned Parenthood instructing him where his polling place was. It was wrong ofcourse, so he had to find the right spot. He was not bugged by it, but his wife has gone ballistic!!! She's a Pit Bull so this could be an interesting story...

From an e-mail I just got an hour ago....

There are already reports of voting irregularity for conservatives in Brooklyn.

A woman called LPNY to say that she and her husband had tried to vote for Silberger for US Senate but that the entire row of "pegs" or flippy-button-things (you know what I'm talking about) were stuck and could not be moved.

She informed the poll workers, who then ridiculed her for not voting for one of the two major candidates.

After about 15 minutes, the poll workers produced provisional ballots and told them to vote using them. They were forced to fill out the ballots in a public area. Then, her husband was instructed to put the ballots in a box.

They think that their ballots will be thrown out!

So, I know how much you guys hate Libertarians, but, THIS COULD BE HAPPENING TO GOP VOTES AS WELL!!!

Voted this morn, Lib couple wouldn't stop talking about the glories of FDR or how the poll observers in OH were "intimidation". Told them both sides did it, including their precious democrats. They even had the nerve to ask a freind "Did you vote for the RIGHT person?". NY is hopless, and I would love to move.

2 more votes for W in Nassau County, NY. We are both teachers and we are both voting a straight Rep ticket. I had teacher meetings in a big Democratic area. It seemed there were few people voting when I passed by during the day. After school, when I voted in my area there were alot more people voting. Go BUSH!

when i went to the polls in VA, they not only checked off my name but they kept a counter of how many voters had come through--my number was associated with my vote in the machine. did they give you any sort of a number that you handed to the poll worker? that means they are keeping a total number of votes and would have to tally against that right??

Voted about 10 AM up in the 'burbs. Turnout was higher than usual by quite a bit, but the Dems have us outregistered about 3 to 1 in my town. Still, they tend to be a bit conservative.

The irregularity in #25 happened to someone else, and in NYC. I'm upstate and voted with no problems.

Hi!

I voted around 8:30 this AM in Shirley, NY (Central Suffolk County, Eastern Long Island). There were probably about 30 or so people at the polling place when I was there. It was simple. I knew my district and went to the table and signed in. My name was there - no problemo!

The only comments I heard from others' was that they had voted for Bush!

I am praying that NY will be closer than anyone expects it to be!

Oh, OF COURSE I voted for Bush/Cheney! : )

Let's hope that you are norm and not the exception. Not so much for W because we can't overcome NYC, but maybe useless do-nothings like my rep Carolyn McCarthy will get the boot.

Praying for Ohio.

I voted for W at 7:30 a.m. in Staten Island, N.Y. No lines at all. But Kerry people have been on the streets of Manhattan for months now. I can't understand why they have been wasting so much time and money in a state that shold be a lock for him. Fingers crossed.

Voted for O'Grady as a protest against the lousy NYS GOP.

(What's with the goofy FR message?)

The Kerry people you have seen on the streets were collecting money to send out of state. They were getting paid on a commission basis (I saw the ad in the Village Voice classifieds).
