National Review ^ | 11/03/04 | Jim Gerhaty

A guy at my office works the phones for Kerry Northwest campaigns.

Their people are freaking about data showing indicating Kerry tied or losing Oregon.

Imagine that...and that's before all the NON-exit polled early votes have been counted. You know...the ones cast on the past few Saturdays by the military voter that might not be able to get to the voting booth on election, or the people who know EXACTLY who they are voting for already, so don't want the bother of waiting in lines today.

Here's some great insider info BUT keep voting!!!

redstate.org quoted on NRO:

insiders say:
"It is over. Bush won. Ohio and Florida are secure."

redstate says:
Well, let's make sure that happens. Go vote people.

Get out there. If you are in the Florida Panhandle or Ohio, get your butts to the polls. If you've voted, haul your neighbors.

consider the fact we will get a 4-6% voter boost after 3pm and these latest exits will represent the info prior to the boost, we will win FL and OH by 4% each.

That Drudge fell for the exit leak story is unfortunate.

I'd use a word other than 'unfortunate', but I agree with the sentiment.

Someone could have made some big money in the market by leaking that false info on the exit polls. Stocks plunged when the market thought Kerry might get in. Someone could....scratch that..SHOULD have their ass busted.

There could be some who won't go out in this. My street was flooded this a.m. until they unclogged the drains. And it is pouring, not a light mist. So I guess we shall see....if Oregon goes Bush I'd be THRILLED!!!!!

Exactly.

Podhoretz said the DOW dropped 100 points in 15 minutes and he smells a rat (well, I used the "rat" phrase) but you get the idea.

I work (own a business) out of country, in northern Manitoba, Canada.
people LOVE Bush there. They are praying for bush to win, and much or ALL of western canada is that way. I wouldn't put too much stock into what Europe, especially France and Germany, thinks. If you go to the Ukraine and Poland, they are all for Bush as well, What about Ireland, and Scotland?
Don't let the media mislead you, south Korea, japan, India, there are many countries who are for Bush.

I will be thrilled too, believe me.

The problems will start after today. Multnomah county will probably try the same deceit they used in 2000. They will refuse to report their results until every other county in the state does.

Just watch. :) I'm hoping we can force them to do things in a timely manner this year, but in 2000 the republicans let them off the hook in the spirit of moving forward. No one wanted to go through another Florida debacle on the opposite coast.

Hoping, hoping...

I'd bet on that as well, there was a sudden market sell today, so it sure looks like a staged act. Somebody gained a quick .83%. Now who would do a thing like that? Do you think they live next door to the Kerry's? probably someone with alot of money trying and succeeding to gain the money he put into the kerry campaign back.

Unfortunately, I'm not talking about the internationals. I'm talking about friends here in the People's Republic of Washington...and these friends are conservatives. Most will still vote for W, though not enthusiastically. They are sound-bite participants in the political process. That type can easily be swayed by personality.

I hope your explanation is right, and it's as good--if not better--than others I've heard. I hope the results are what you hope they are. I hope the outcome is good, regardless of what I think of Drudge's street smarts for posting this stuff.

that's exactly right! Nobody is going to go and do exit polls in the rural areas, and those are the areas that are more republican, Add =4 Bush.

Bush 56, kerry 4(3?)national poll Hewitt says. Calling for Ohio voters to get out and do that last minute vote!! NOW! Same for Florida

After the hysterical drudge and NRO posted bogus early polls I can't get worked up about exit polls. Good to know that they are freaking out, but dems. have been freaking out for the past four years.

Someone DID make big money. Think big. If you have oh, say a billion to play with, what's a .83% return in one day equal? I think they were hoping for a bigger fall though. regardless, it makes up many times over what they put out for all the 527's and kerry donations. I hope that the persons involved get nailed.

Voters in eleven states face gay-marriage amendments Nov. 2:

Arkansas

Georgia

Kentucky

Michigan

Mississippi

Montana

North Dakota

Ohio

Oklahoma

Oregon

Utah

This means big conservative turnout.
