I called Gephardt as the nominee at the beginning of this when there was the 9 demo-dwarves. Gephardt could have won by being "unscary" and delivering Missouri and Iowa. He would have had no problem taking Mass anyway, but may have lost NH. Dems chose poorly...

I don't think that's true (but I'd love if the libs think it). Antiwar Kerry actually rallied the deepest darkest parts of the Democrat soul. Michael Moore would have been ineffective with a Gephardt. They are a sick, sick people and Gephardt could not have saved them. He might have gotten some swing voters, but not enough of the hard left.

I was wondering....what if Skerry had taken Gephardt for Veep? Obviously the Breck Girl didn't help win anything in the south. With Gep's union background, and midwest roots, it makes me wonder (to quote Led Zep), could he have helped carry Ohio, Iowa, and Misery for the Ds? I guess we won't know, and that is good.
