Very well said. I have been thinking of how to say much of this to my young and naive stepdaughter, who could not understand why I would support Bush. She is a very sharp kid, who has been "trained" by the MSM and the faculty of her fine university.
I may just use this as-is to help her see the light.
Thanks for the great message!
Clean up the 'spicy' language first, though. I got a little excited at times while writing it. I have passion you know.
My daughter had an 'ah-ha' moment on monday night when she was going through the voter pamphlet to decide how she was going to vote on the initiatives (California). She asked me about the stem-cell research one, after I explained that it was really trying to get into fetal stem cell research, with all it's attendant right-to-life issues, it also wanted taxpayers to pay for it, instead of the medical research companys. She looked at me and said, "but is says that the government is going to pay for it" After I mentally cursed myself for subjecting her to public education, I told her that the government doesn't earn money, it gets all its money from taxes, from us. The 'OMG, you're right' look on her face was classic. She'll never look at social programs the same way again.
