Houston mainly voted Republican. There were a couple of Democratic pockets.

Houston doesn't vote republican (not the city itself). The previous mayor (before the current liberal mayor) was a black carpet bagger liberal democrat and he got elected. The outer suburbs are republican, but the city is democrat.

Houston is a HUGE municipality.

At least it was many years ago when I was there. In other words it 'includes" it's own suburbs, so to speak?

Correct me Houstonians.
